Innovations in window and door hardware
Specialist in hardware systems HOPPE develops its products continuously, based on trends and market requirements. A good example of this is the new Hamburg and Toulon series, which stand out for their characteristic sleek design. "The Toulon series is somewhat more rectangular, while Hamburg stands out with more rounded shapes," says project consultant for the Netherlands Angelo van Aken. "Both series are available in the trend color matte black, in aluminum F1 and in stainless steel look. Because the series are available both as SKG*** and Politiekeurmerk Veilig Wonen approved security hardware, interior door hardware, SKG approved turn-and-tilt window handles as lift-slide hardware are available, architects and end users can create unity of design. The first reactions from the market are enormously positive."
Like the successful Luxembourg and Verona series, the new Hamburg series is also available with the new screwless mounting technology on HOPPE's standard rosettes.
"Thanks to this new technology, not only door handles, but also door handle and key roses of door handle furniture can be assembled easily, quickly and without screws," says Van Aken.
"SnelstiftPlus is a consistent further development of our Snelstift technology, which was sec available for flat rosettes. With the extension for the aforementioned garnitures, we offer even more assembly advantages. The handle and key roses with continuous supporting lugs can be installed completely without screws. The supporting lugs each consist of a pin and a fiberglass-reinforced plastic sleeve that can be simply pushed into one another. The result is a backlash-free and stable fastening. Special preparation of the door is not necessary. Only two guide holes (Ø 7 mm) for the continuous support lugs of the roses are sufficient, allowing installation parties to save considerable time and costs. Moreover, a high-quality finish is guaranteed."

Very popular among architects and end users are also the HOPPE mini-rosettes, which enhance the unique design of the door handles. "The minimalist rosettes have a diameter of only 22 mm, where 38 mm rosettes are normally used," said Van Aken.
"Once mounted, the mini-rosettes are barely noticeable. This gives the door handle all the attention it deserves."
The interior door sets with mini rosettes are currently available in aluminum, stainless steel and brass and in the Amsterdam, Dallas and Los Angeles series. "The garnitures consist as standard of two door handles with matching handle roses. If required, key rosettes are also available, possibly in a special version for toilet/bathroom doors."

"HOPPE is originally a manufacturer of mechanical door and window hardware," Van Aken emphasizes. "But we also bet high on Smart Home solutions. For example, our electronic door hardware HandsFree and FingerScan are sophisticated examples of this, harmoniously bringing together keyless entry, optimum security and simple access management. WITHOUT annoying scanners on the wall."
Also innovative is eRaamgreep ConnectSense, which monitors the current status of the window. "eRaamgreep ConnectSense reliably recognizes burglary attempts at the window and reports them to the Z-Wave Plus Smart Home Control Center. Both the position of the handle (closed, tilted, opened) and of the window sash (closed, opened) are recognized and reported. A specially developed algorithm differentiates here between an unintentional shock (e.g. from a ball from playing children) and actual break-in attempts (e.g. prying open the window). Via the Smart Home center and associated app, the user can easily activate the appropriate deterrent measures, such as switching on the lights, activating an alarm signal and/or closing the shutters. This takes safe living to a new level."
In addition to increased security, eWindow Handle ConnectSense also increases energy efficiency and comfort, Van Aken emphasizes. "For this too, users can define various scenarios, such as automatically turning down central heating or air conditioning when the window is open and/or only automatically closing shutters when patio doors are closed. And so there are numerous more scenarios possible, about which we are happy to inform interested parties."
