finishing options
Choosing an X5 sliding door from Xinnix, means choosing a space-saving and aesthetic solution. With this series, the specialist from Harelbeke offers a complete range that allows wooden or glass doors, to slide completely into a wall of ordinary thickness. These sliding door systems are easy to install and can be delivered quickly thanks to the Mix&Match system.
An X5 sliding door is composed of three boxes. The first box is determined by the height, the second by the width and the third is the set for finishing. The uprights and elements, which determine the width, can be cut to size on the building site. A distinction is made between X5 Pocket and X5 Wall. The former system allows two rooms to be separated with a sliding door that disappears seamlessly into the wall, while the other version creates a pre-wall when renovating, with the door sliding into a slim wall in front of the already existing wall.
"Depending on the setup, different sliding door types are possible. The standard X5 can go up to 3515 mm high and 1230 mm wide, but the XXL version goes up to 3030 mm wide per door leaf. The construction of the walls and mounting for such giant doors remain just the same as for a standard sliding door. The difference is in the additional center posts that provide more stability."
"In addition, we offer the X5 Double, suitable for double doors, where both door panels move independently of each other. With the X5 Synchronous, the door panels slide open and close simultaneously, and with an X5 Parallel system, two sashes disappear into a wall width of a single sliding door, providing a clear passage that doubles," says sales manager Laurens Vermeulen.
"The X5 Angle allows a corner sliding door to divide an open space into two compartments. For privacy, the two spaces can be closed off from each other. Leaving the sliding door open then creates another free passage, even for wheelchair users. This is ideal, for example, for sanitary cubicles in hospitals and residential care centers."
With these sliding door systems, there are two finishes to choose from. With the 'Xinnix' finish, rail and suspension are concealed invisibly with proprietary developed profiles. This is also the best option for glass doors. With the 'Pure' finish, the suspension is integrated into the door leaf. This finish is mainly used in ceiling-high solutions, where the rail is recessed into a false ceiling. The invisible integration of a soft open and soft close in the rail ensures, that the door is braked both when opening and closing. The push to open function ensures that the door can be easily removed from the wall by simply pressing the door leaf.
"Which plating one chooses depends mainly on what one wants to attach to the walls in which the sliding door disappears. X5 has standard plating of 12.5 mm thick on both sides, while X5D (double) combines 2 plasterboards of 12.5 mm," concludes Vermeulen.
"X5D32 uses thicker drywall or combines OSB with a finish of veneer, tile, .... The latest development is X5D50 with even wider uprights. This solution is ideal for applications where a TV or radiator will be attached to the system's surface-mounted wall. The superstructure here is extra sturdy, allowing optimum use of all walls."
