German Innovation Award 2020 for sliding door system

heroal S 65 convinces with innovation, production efficiency and cost-effectiveness

The aluminum sliding door system heroal S 65 was awarded the German Innovation Award 2020 in the "Excellence in Business to Business - Building & Elements" category as a "winner" by the Design Council. The system scored especially for its innovative construction, efficient production and cost-effectiveness.   

The heroal S 65 aluminum sliding door system is characterized by its particularly simple and efficient production and innovative sash construction. Here, the new insulation profiles, which have been specially adapted to the sliding door system, make it possible to use larger sashes with constant protection against bending (bimetal effect). The use of pre-assembled labyrinths on the sash profiles saves a separate fixing and enables the use of a very narrow center post: only 62 millimeters of face width. In addition, the all-round frame reduces the complexity of the system and thus further simplifies production. This makes the sliding door system heroal S 65 particularly suitable for offering an economically attractive solution for high-quality residential and commercial construction.

About the German Innovation Award

Each year, the German Innovation Award presented by the Design Council distinguishes cross-industry products and solutions that stand out from previous solutions by putting the user first and providing added value. The jury, consisting of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, science, institutions and finance, presents the award in two categories: "Excellence in Business to Consumer" and "Excellence in Business to Business." They assess the products according to their degree of innovation, user benefit and profitability.
