RecyStel contributes to this with a range of structural frame profiles for plastic, wood and aluminum frames, to which a special foam gas has been added. Thanks to this addition, the frame profiles can be processed as easily as wood. The material also provides excellent thermal insulation and is therefore ideally suited for passive house constructions, zero-meg houses and (B)ENG projects.
RecyStel is a Dutch manufacturer and supplier of sustainable, insulating and fully recyclable plastic frame profiles. Until 2019, the company supplied customized frame frames mainly to contractors in residential and renovation construction, project developers in utility construction and developers of passive house constructions.
"Recently this service has been adapted," explains Theo van Gorkom, director of RecyStel. "Architects, property developers and contractors are constantly setting new requirements for the frame profile, which meant that standardization proved impossible. Whereas you can mill and saw wooden frame frames into any shape, this is not possible with plastic. By now manufacturing the profiles to trade lengths and supplying them to frame fabricators, contractors and carpentry companies, we can respond better to market requirements. Moreover, architects, property developers, contractors and end users can still enjoy all the benefits of 100% recycled PVC."
The RecyStel frame profiles are available through the web shop at www.recystel.nl. Frame processors, contractors and carpenters have a choice of various profile variants, with face widths from 18 to 21 mm, which can be ordered both in individual lengths and in large quantities. All frame profiles are suitable for plastic, wooden and aluminum frames, in new construction and renovation.
"The frame profiles are produced locally from 100% recycled PVC, which comes from old, disassembled window frames and leftover pieces," Van Gorkom says. "This makes the profiles many times more durable than wood. Also, the thermal insulation performance is much better. Our frame profiles insulate up to as much as 40% better than standard PVC profiles. All frame profiles are available in lengths of 6 meters and easily cut to size. A 0.8 mm black coextrusion layer provides an attractive shadow line between the frame and the facade."
In renovation projects, until recently traditional bonding wood applications were mainly used. Meanwhile, however, the plastic frame profiles R-2005, R-2008-1 and R-2008-2 from RecyStel are conquering more and more ground here. Not surprising, according to Van Gorkom, given the many advantages that the frame profiles offer.
"Plastic is not susceptible to weathering. The material does not rot or mold, nor is warping an issue. Moreover, the frame profiles are easy to install, without pre-drilling, priming, painting and/or risks of damage."
The installation of a corner line for a perfect stop and finish is not necessary, he says. "The profiles are also easy to adjust and customize on site. Thanks to the trade length of 6 meters, seams in the frame profile are not an issue with large frame sizes. Last but not least, the plastic frame profiles have a very long lifetime and high residual value. Besides in the renovation market, these properties also offer considerable advantages in new construction projects."
