Technical tapes and self-adhesive system solutions are used in a wide variety of industrial, professional and private applications. Professionals in the construction sector use self-adhesive tapes for bonding partitions, wall coverings and ceilings, the installation of decorative panels in elevators, the fixing of reinforcing profiles, etc., but especially also in the assembly of windows and doors. Thus Aliplast Aluminium Systems opts for the double-sided tape tesa® 62520 in the assembly of their minimalist aluminum interior doors, which they recently introduced under the name IDA.
Aliplast Aluminum Systems is one of the market leaders in the development and production of aluminum systems for windows, doors, verandas sliding systems and curtain walls. Recently, the company also broke new ground with the development and production of minimalist aluminum interior doors under the name IDA. "Many building owners dream of robust steel interior doors, but the budget often puts them off," explains sales manager for the Netherlands Marc Mulders.
"We developed with IDA (Interior Doors Aluminum) a slim and light system for swing, sliding and pivoting doors, single or double. They are assembled in the workshop or on site, which is especially convenient for larger elements."
With the tesa® 625XX, the specialist offers a range of double-sided PE foam tapes. High adhesion, even on difficult materials, and good resistance to UV radiation, water and aging are major strengths.
To mount the glass panels, Aliplast uses the tesa® 62520, a double-sided PE foam tape with a total thickness of 2000 µm, which consists of a highly conformable closed-cell PE foam backing and an acrylic adhesive with strong initial adhesion.
"Our double-sided PE foam tapes from the tesa® 625XX series are distinguished by their great adhesive strength and high initial adhesion, even on difficult materials and at low joint pressures," says Technical Sales and Application Support Jens Emmerich.
"In addition, these products exhibit excellent resistance to UV radiation, water and aging and have very good cold shock resistance."
"This tape is very easy and flexible to use and also guarantees fast assembly of the glass panels. Any unevenness in the surface is evened out with the tape and, unlike liquid adhesives, there is no drying time or extra work to remove adhesive residue," Marc Mulders adds.
"We bought tesa products in the past and were always satisfied with the quality of product and service. So when we were looking for a solution for our new IDA interior doors, the choice was quickly made."
