Even simpler. Even better.
Diversity and simplicity are not mutually exclusive, they complement each other. Proof of this is provided by the newly available update to version Xesar 3.1. The already proven Xesar electronic access system becomes even simpler and better thanks to the update, including the new "Installation Manager. Another novelty: the Xesar tablet communicates wirelessly with the Xesar components of the new generation (G 2.1).
"Xesar's PC installation has repeatedly presented some of our partners with challenges, which are now no longer an issue. With Xesar 3.1, users get the appropriate help from the new Installation Manager," says Erich Gärtner, department head of commercial product management at Xesar. This guides you step by step through the software installation. All necessary system settings are checked and appropriate solutions are offered in case of errors. Even less trained users can perform the PC installation without errors in no time.
Another important novelty: the new Xesar components (G 2.1) such as door handles or wall readers communicate wirelessly with the Xesar tablet. The previous generation, Xesar 2 components (G 2), were already characterized by easy maintenance and fast data transmission. However, there still remained a connecting cable that had to be physically connected to perform all tasks. But with Xesar 3.1, that is a thing of the past: no cable connection is needed anymore to perform maintenance tasks. One press of a button and the maintenance engineer has an overview. The tablet scans all new Xesar components in the immediate vicinity. Then even all necessary maintenance tasks, such as firmware updates or blacklist synchronization, can be commissioned simultaneously. This frees up a lot of time for other tasks to be performed. He also determines the order himself, depending on his schedule. But those who still want to continue to perform maintenance with the connection cable can continue to do so.
Another new feature is that components can be asked to identify themselves via the Xesar tablet. They then flash several times and emit a short audio signal. In case of any ambiguity regarding the assignment of the door components, the maintenance engineer can easily identify the components remotely. This saves me as an EVVA partner a lot of time and simplifies the installation of the system.
There is another simpler novelty available with Xesar 3.1: the Bluetooth on/off media. Regardless of the software version, Bluetooth can thus be switched on and off on the components1 . In this way, Xesar 3.1 can also continue to be used in Bluetooth-sensitive areas. In addition, the Bluetooth can also be installed in existing systems without Bluetooth and simply be switched on and used in its full expansion phase when subsequently updated to version 3.1.
All new Xesar components (G 2.1) are compatible with existing systems from Xesar 2.2 onward, even without a software or firmware update. However, customers only get the full functionality by commissioning Xesar 3.1. "If our customers want to benefit from all the advantages of the new version, I strongly recommend updating to Xesar 3.1. Of course, this is free of charge - just like all software applications at EVVA," Gärtner says enthusiastically.
"Xesar 3.1 is a new milestone in the history of Xesar. The update increases the ease of maintenance and the service life of the component. Simplicity is proven once again here," says Erich Gärtner, department head of product management at EVVA Sicherheitstechnologie GmbH.
