HOPPE pays close attention to new colors - anthracite and black, a warm copper tone and brass-colored surfaces - and complements that color palette with new surfaces, such as a glossy polished and satin finish.

The world of hardware does not stand still. This is also evident in the latest developments at HOPPE, one of the market leaders in Europe when it comes to the development, production and sale of hardware systems for doors and windows. The family-owned company responds to current issues such as burglary protection and hygiene with SecuForte®, the new standard for burglar protection for windows, and SecuSan®, an antibacterial and antimicrobial surface. Furthermore, the specialist is also launching new colors and surfaces.

SKG®**tested lockable window handle

In response to stringent requirements for burglar resistance, HOPPE developed SecuForte®. In a standard version, these window handles already offer unique burglary protection; the lockable version complies with SKG®** and is suitable for burglar-resistant windows in accordance with DIN EN 1627.

This solution is available in several versions, with the Hamburg series standing out for its fine lines and harmonious combination of angular and round design elements. A range of expressive colors, in particular aluminum (F1), stainless steel-look (F31-1), white (F9016) and matte black (F9714M), makes these handles compatible with any living style.

In response to the stringent requirements for burglar resistance, HOPPE developed SecuForte®.

"This is a unique security concept. When the window is closed or in tilt position, the window handle is automatically locked, because the handle and square pin of the patented VarioFit® technology are not connected. Burglars who want to turn the handle from the outside can turn from the rose with great force, but the square pin still cannot be moved," says Angelo van Aken, project consultant for the Netherlands at HOPPE.

"This SecuForte®-handles work differently than we are normally used to, but can still be operated easily. If one wants to open the window, one first presses the handle in the direction of the rosette, which releases the locking mechanism and the handle can be simply turned. When closing or tilting the window, the handle is locked again and can be operated only after pressing it back in the direction of the rosette."

Antibacterial surface

Hygiene is more topical today than ever before. This certainly applies to door handles and window handles, because without realizing it, we shake hands with thousands of unfamiliar people when we touch them. That is why HOPPE developed SecuSan®, a special surface that immediately and permanently inhibits bacterial and microbial growth on window and door hardware.

It is completely maintenance-free and calculated for long-term use. The antimicrobial effectiveness owes SecuSan® to the use of silver ions, which have already proven their value against bacterial and microbial pathogens - not against viral pathogens. Tested and certified to ISO standards 22196:2011, this solution also fervently meets real field tests, as demonstrated in a comparative study of conventional - and SecuSan®-door handles at Marburg University Hospital.

Special accents

HOPPE is also paying a lot of attention to new colors: anthracite and black to add even more accents to a room, a warm copper tone, which fits perfectly with natural wood colors, and brass-colored surfaces, which in turn fit into luxuriously furnished homes or a simple Scandinavian living style. "We complement that color palette with new surfaces, such as a glossy polished and satin finish," van Aken concludes.

"These new colors are available for our Amsterdam, Dallas and Los Angeles ranges. For the interior door, standard rosettes as well as mini or flat versions are available, allowing for greater design freedom. Something for everyone."
