MACO presents its new surface technology with self-healing capability. The "MACO-Evo-Effect" is unique in the industry and will be used for the Silver Look hardware - Silver Look-Evo - the new generation and evolution in surface technology for hardware protection.
The self-lubricating surface reduces wear and corrosion, eliminating fittings. Similar to human skin, which heals from minor injuries, the nanocapsules in the top layer act as a reservoir for lubricants and corrosion-inhibiting protective substances. When the surface is damaged, the substances in the nanocapsules escape and refill the scratches. "This surface is unique in the industry," says Mark Hamori, Managing Director Sales & Marketing, adding, "This technology reduces friction on the hardware and significantly increases functional life and ease of use.
Optimized operation through even better guidance give corrosion and wear no chance: The Evo effect.
"Silver Look-Evo is the result of our decades of experience in electrogalvanizing in-house, now combined with tribological sealing," says Guido Felix, CEO. The steel or zamak hardware parts are galvanized, passivated and finished with a seal with integrated nano-capsules. This provides protection and a noble appearance in equal measure: wear and tear and corrosion have no chance. The optimally matched layer structure increases service life and corrosion resistance. Users benefit from increased ease of use thanks to improved sliding properties. Processors appreciate clean working due to reduction of grease points.
The appearance of the Silver Look-Evo is unchanged from the previous Silver Look process, meaning processors can switch without any noticeable change in optics.
MACO will supply the self-produced surface coating for the entire MACO range. Production of the new surface will begin in early July 2020. From then on, all semi-finished products and assemblies will be successively finished with Silver Look-Evo. It not only meets the high quality requirements of the product, but also the latest legal requirements for environmental protection and sustainability.
