The days when the facade of every home consisted of masonry with traditional bricks are a thing of the past. Today, architects and clients often choose alternative elements made of aluminum, steel, glass and other materials for cladding facades and gutters.

The panels are available at an exceptional length of 5550 mm, which results in fewer end joints on the façade, giving the whole look a quieter appearance.

LoCra manufactures and markets innovative finishing products for the construction industry. The firm was founded in 2011 by Lode Craenen, who until then had already earned his stripes as sales manager and business manager in the world of window and building profiles for more than 20 years.

"I was and still am driven by a passion for developing innovative products from new materials for residential construction. For example, with the Lignodur^® topline LD 36 and masterline LD 40 since 2011, a wide range of window sashes in different models, widths and colors, as well as a range of finished, pre-formed outfits for windows, wall frames, shutter boxes made of moisture-resistant green MDF V313, covered with a plastic renolit film," says the business manager.

"From the early years, we also supply Lignodur terrafina^® decking boards that are crack and splinter free. Thanks to an ingenious click & clip system, those decking boards click together easily, making installation 50 % faster. There is always a narrow 3 to 4 mm joint between the boards and a disassembly clip ensures that the decking boards can be disassembled without damage and reassembled later."

With the new Lignodur terrafina^® lounge Massiv and Massiv XL, the raw material Lignoguard, which completely coats the planks, increases stain resistance and ease of maintenance, making them also ideal for use on balconies, under patio covers, ...."

These mold-resistant sheets are used for cladding siding, eaves, fascias, dormers and ceilings, among other things.

Gutter and wall cladding

The Kuringen-based company continues to invest in innovation, for example with the production of boards for cladding façade elements, eaves, fascias, dormers and ceilings, among others. This sustainable and low maintenance solution, with FSC label, is assembled from Medite Tricoya^® Extreme.

"This unique sheet material, coupled with the Accoya^®-technology of acetylated wood fibers, has superior dimensional stability and excellent durability even under the most changing weather conditions. Mold-resistant boards do not crack or split and retain their shape in just about any direction. This offers unprecedented possibilities in applications and environments, where wood-based board material previously could not be used."

"Medite Tricoya^® Extreme provides a guarantee of 50 years for above-ground applications and 25 years for underground use," explained the case manager.

"These panels are finished with a UV-resistant renolit film or conventional, water-based paints and can be combined with the exterior joinery of windows and doors. They are available in an exceptional length of 5550 mm, which offers enormous advantages in terms of processing and labor time. In addition, dimensions result in fewer end joints on the façade, making the whole look calmer. The cutting, sanding, machining, gluing, painting, coating and fastening is identical to regular quality wood fiber boards."
