"Let me get right to the point: I have deep respect for our mechanics!" Speaking is Henk de Bruin, director at Holland Geveltechniek. He talks about the Teleport Tower project in Amsterdam, where his fitters gave all aluminum window frames and panels a total makeover at dizzying heights. "A huge challenge, everything was difficult to reach, but we got the job done using the right materials. Our guys worked from suspended platforms and scaffolding, on three sides of the huge building. All the red aluminum window frames and panels were coated in a Ral 9004 silk gloss black film by us." The greatest height? A whopping 110 meters. A wrap job that can only be left to true professionals, with the wind howling around the suspension bridge at that height. "I am therefore more than proud of the guys who did a top-notch job again," says Henk.
Another project where Holland Geveltechniek provided a metamorphosis was transforming the VUE Cinema in Arnhem, into a beautiful, fresh look. Henk explains, "For our German client, we transformed the cinema to contemporary taste. It has become a stylish whole. We provided the panels around the building with light gray film, the sloping roof parts with dark gray film. Working 'tone on tone' creates a beautiful and balanced image, but with a field of tension between the shades of gray. Here, too, the application of the foil was a challenge, but mainly in terms of administration and logistics. Quite a few permits had to be arranged and the accessibility of the property was far from optimal," Henk outlines. "Do you know what the best part is? This contract was awarded to us in blind trust. I never saw the client live, everything went by mail, phone and photos. People are very satisfied, as it turns out, because this client's next project is already under contract."
This is how Henk describes the assignment for Woning Stichting Nijkerk. "Normally it is the housing associations that give us assignments for properties they manage. This time it was for themselves. We coated all aluminum window frames and panels, as well as the garage doors, with Avery Facade film, in the color Ral 7021 silk gloss. This also created a totally different look, as the window frames were light yellow in color before that time. Even the fencing was foiled by us, to bring harmony to the whole."
Henk can give a clear answer to that question: "First of all, it's about the transformation itself. It gives every building an enormous boost. But working with renovation foil is also enormously sustainable, because you give windows, doors and cladding a second life. In addition, the foil protects the aluminum better than the original coating on it. Furthermore, there is no disassembly, transportation, spraying and assembly. That makes a huge difference in terms of CO2 emissions. To top it off, we have hardly any waste. No residual material is left behind."
