In Profile number 3 of 2021, the range of frame profiles from RecyStel BV was fully in the spotlight. Rightly so, especially given the many advantages and wide applicability of the concept. The invention is also increasingly being embraced at Ploeg because of the product benefits, the costs and especially the character. This is evident during a conversation with Lars Castelijn, project leader on behalf of the company operating out of Nieuw-Vennep. "RecyStel's frame profiles fit seamlessly with our sustainability-based vision and mission."
With the frame profiles for aluminum, wooden and plastic frames, RecyStel anticipates the increasingly strict regulations regarding sustainable and energy-efficient building. The range, suitable for both new construction and renovation, therefore has everything to offer. For example, thanks to a special foam gas, the products composed entirely of 100% recycled PVC are as easy to process to size as their wooden counterparts.
Furthermore, the material used ensures superior thermal insulation and optimal sealing of seams and cracks. Characteristics that make the profiles highly suitable for a variety of applications, such as passive house constructions, Zero-in-the-Meter homes and (B)ENG projects. At the same time, the profiles, available through the RecyStel webshop in lengths up to 6 meters and various designs, are not susceptible to weathering. The result is a significantly longer lifespan and high residual value. This is another reason why the plastic frame profiles from RecyStel are a more than suitable alternative to wooden versions.
More and more contractors, carpentry companies and frame manufacturers are experiencing the welcome benefits of RecyStel in everyday practice. One of these is Ploeg kozijnen, which as a top player in the market of plastic window frames serves private clients, contracting companies, housing corporations and Home Owners Associations to measure. This is done, among other things, with a varied line of plastic window frames. In addition to the business projects where we have applied RecyStel, this frame is so versatile that the private end customer also notices the benefits. And private customers also benefit from assembly by our own assembly crew.
"With RecyStel we complete the circle in terms of sustainability," Castelijn believes. "Of course our choice for this versatile product has to do with its easy processing, its maintenance-free character, its long pleasure of use and its considerably lower cost price compared to wood. But first and foremost, the sustainable nature of RecyStel perfectly matches our working method and company values. It is composed entirely of recycled window frame parts and in terms of manufacturing, compared to wood, it represents a significantly lower CO2-emissions. Not surprisingly, we are using this brand more and more. Depending on the situation and customer requirements, we always make a conscious choice of material. We also use wood, but often its advantages are dwarfed by the benefits of RecyStel. That makes the choice in most cases not so difficult."
Ploeg window frames applied RecyStel successfully during, among other things, the Baden-Powellweg project in Amsterdam. Here, the wooden window frames with single glazing of sixty apartments were replaced by plastic window frames with double glazing and RecyStel.
A second reference concerns the renovation of 93 pre-war houses in Amsterdam's Gentiaan neighborhood that went off the gas. For this project, Ploeg supplied 288 window frames, for which 360 lengths of RecyStel plastic standing frame were used.
