Woelm acquired Q-Design, expanding its offering

The law of attraction has shown itself again: Heiligenhaus, Germany-based Woelm GmbH, designer and manufacturer of high-quality door hardware and high-end sliding door systems, has acquired Belgium-based Q-Design NV. Woelm managing director Karl Kristian Woelm reports that this is both a strategic and aesthetic choice; Q-Design and the brand KWS, known from Woelm, fit together perfectly. Not only when it comes to quality, but also on the aesthetic level. Former Q-Design Christophe Desmet will remain active at Q-Design as business manager.

Combination of door styles and proven KWS door stops and door buffers

KWS door stoppers and door buffers have long enjoyed fame. A current highlight are the new types on post, which are particularly suitable for use with outward-opening (automatic) entrance doors and block the turning range of the door. 

In addition to providing reliable protection against damage, the new version on pole is highly visible due to its height. The risk of tripping is thus minimized. The KWS door stops and buffers are supplied in painted steel and stainless steel, in 60 mm posts, with a height that is variable by about 1,000 mm, for maximum door weights of 100 kg. 

The posts can be recessed into the floor or screwed to it. Upon request, they are also available with two tie-downs or two buffers, or as a tie-down-buffer combination.

The German-Belgian connection works well

Q-Design NV is a manufacturer of stainless steel door handles (AISI 316) and other door and furniture hardware. Q-Design's products complement the existing KWS range superbly. Karl Kristian Woelm can look back with satisfaction on the last Polyclose, where the brands KWS, HELM and Q-Design were shown fraternally side by side in the Woelm booth. The reactions of the many visitors were more than laudatory. This shows that the strategic choice to take over Q-Design was the right one, there is clearly a synergy between the three brands.

Door handle program KWS/Q-Design is more than complete

The KWS door handles program has always been very diverse, but Q-Design has made it even more comprehensive. The delivery spectrum ranges from classically round to angular handles, to models with square handle plates. This in numerous materials and sizes, for every taste and every living desire there is a suitable door handle. The door handles are available for both internal and external doors and all feature the high manufacturing quality for which Woelm GmbH is renowned. In terms of fastening technology, the extensive range leaves nothing to be desired. We are talking here about extremely robust fastening technology with a rich selection of matching fastenings for single-sided (visible and invisible) and double-sided door handles.

Highlights from the large collection

Some highlights of the large collection of door handles are the models made of stainless steel (AISI 316), matt brushed, of very high quality, resistant and durable. 

Of course, the absolute trend color of the moment is not missing, namely matte black, noble in appearance, luxurious and very popular with (interior) architects. Anyone with special wishes in terms of shape and dimensions is more than welcome at Woelm.
