This is because red is the strongest color in the color spectrum of sunlight. Red flowers also wilt earlier than other flowers ... so it is difficult to make resistant, red paint. Grimbergen Installations in Rijnsburg experienced that problem, too. The red facade cladding was in a hopeless state, in terms of appearance. So a real job for Holland Gevel Techniek. Henk de Bruin, director at Holland Gevel Techniek: "We treated the weathered aluminum panels and provided them with red facade foil. The panels look nice and fresh again and can last for years."

"We are increasingly being asked to do interior work with our facade foil," continues De Bruin. "Such was the case at Cultura in Ede. There we upgraded white panels, window frames and walls to an attractive shade of gray, RAL 7022. Here there was not so much weathering of the old paint, but the situation could have used a push towards the present. From drab white to moody gray, done quickly, efficiently and expertly."
We stay "inside" for a while longer. A remarkable project was carried out by Holland Gevel Techniek at Rotterdam Ahoy: "The interior walls there were wood colored, the elevator fronts black. We were looking for an airier and lighter look. We created that there with fresh, white foil. A real metamorphosis," says De Bruin.

In Ridderkerk, De Bruin was asked to transform an interior and exterior facade from red to a different color scheme. "We tackled the entire exterior facade and interior with a dark green film. The panels above the entrance were then done in a yellow color. An uncommon combination that looks special and gives everything a modern look again."

That a renovation or transformation with foil creates a fresh, new look is by now considered familiar. However, there are more advantages. De Bruin: "Consider that working with renovation foil is enormously sustainable. First, because you give windows, doors and cladding a second life. Second, because the foil protects the aluminum (or Trespa) better than the original coating that was on it. Third, because no disassembly, transportation, spraying, transport and assembly are required - just count what that saves in CO2-emissions - and last but not least, we have hardly any waste. No residual material is left behind."

Looking at the amount of commercial properties that date back to the 1980s and 1990s, all of which suffer from degradation of the paintwork from that era, Holland Gevel Techniek is far from finished. For property owners, the fact that working with foil immediately produces brilliant results is a big plus.
"A property that looks cared for is worth more than one that presents a neglected appearance. That makes a huge difference when selling and helps to get a property rented faster. Let's face it: everyone wants to look a little handsome, don't they?"
