Cloth awnings now perfectly compatible with minimalist windows

This makes the wind-resistant Fixscreen more than ever the most all-round, efficient, durable and high-quality investment to keep cool indoors on hot days. So, both for built-in and post-installation on high-end minimalist windows, curtain walls and sliding doors, Renson now has the perfect compromise between durability, comfort and design available. The result? One aesthetic whole in harmony with the architecture.

With the Fixscreen Minimal, Renson goes for the highest achievable in terms of design and detailed finish. With no visible screws and all parts in the same color, it blends in perfectly with the slimmest window profiles. Ideal for those who opt for comfort but do not want to compromise on the amount of daylight entering the building with fabric boxes and side guides protruding from the glass of super slim window profiles. This new type of fabric awning owes its resistance to wind speeds of up to 130 km/h to the zipper technology used to guide the fabric into the side guides, while at the same time being so minimalist that it is barely noticeable when integrated into the façade along with the window. How is it done? Thanks to a more compact fabric box, a smaller bottom bar in which the welded seam of the fabric is invisibly concealed, narrower side guides, and a perfect connection to the sloping window sill. In addition to the 5 year product warranty, the 7 year warranty on the Fixscreen technology continues to apply to the Fixscreen Minimal, which has now also been extended to include a 7 year warranty on the Detecto Renson 'safety first' motor.

Widths up to 12m and suitable for sliding doors

A striking feature of the Fixscreen Minimal is that, thanks to the 'base box M.W+' as an optional component for hooking up the fabric box, it can be moved freely forwards by 40 mm in its entirety (fabric box and side guides). This ensures that fabric awnings can now also be combined with windows or doors with a latch on the outside and that you can always use minimalist windows with their characteristic reinforcement profiles. However, the free-standing lateral guide now also leaves the necessary space for sliding screens and sliding windows with a sliding sash on the outside: up to 12 m wide, without compromising on detailing and with the greatest possible ease of installation.

Ease of installation first

When developing the Fixscreen Minimal, the primary consideration was ease of assembly.

- For example, the profile at the back of the cloth case is designed to serve various applications: to hang quickly and easily from a pre-attached hook profile, for example. For free-standing applications, the back of the fabric box is then finished off nicely thanks to a fill-in profile. Where you want the fabric box to reach 40 mm in front of the window, you can use the 'base box M.W+', in combination with an 'M.W+' side guide.

- To make the Fixscreen Minimal even smoother to assemble, the connection between the fabric box and the side guides is incidentally made using a separate mounting pin.

- Moreover, it is now very easy to detach the bottom rail from the screen fabric. This saves a lot of weight, especially when installing large screens, and at the same time ensures that the screens can be dismantled quickly.

- A new removable click profile on the fabric tube not only minimizes horizontal line formation in the fabric, but also allows you to easily and quickly click the fabric out of the fabric tube.

- Finally, the existing Connect&Go technology received an update with an even more robust and user-friendly result. Thanks to the integration of the Click&Safe technology, the connection of the fabric tube now clicks into the cabinet screwlessly. This leaves you, the installer, with your hands free to complete the assembly without problems.
