Dragging heavy windows and doors up the stairs is a real chore, requiring several people. However, it can also be done very easily and ergonomically by one operator using Zonzini's Skipper Plasmoid. This electric stair climber effortlessly transports heavy furniture and machinery, as well as windows and doors. Thanks to two independently driven non-slip tracks, it always maintains its grip and can rotate 360°.
Zonzini headquartered in the northern Italian city of Verona has specialized in the development of electric stair climbers for the transport of heavy goods for more than 45 years. The company was founded in 1977 and soon the first electric elevator system was launched on the market. The first stair climber followed a few years later. Just after the turn of the century, the manufacturer introduced the first member of the Skipper family, which would also become an ideal partner for transporting windows and doors. At Zonzini, they first listen to the problems from the market, including from window and door manufacturers, and translate their needs into useful solutions. Thus, they develop unique tools, with which windows and doors can be transported safely and reliably via stairs.
"When transporting by stairs, a lot of problems can arise. For example, there are locations with little room in height or one has to deal with a narrow landing or passageway. Sometimes the windows and doors are just enormously heavy. That's where we offer the ideal solution with our Skipper Plasmoid, which allows one operator to easily get the job done," says business manager Jacopo Zonzini. "To easily pass through low doorways or in corridors with low ceilings, the operator can change the angle of inclination of the stair climber at the touch of a button. Thanks to the two independently driven tracks, the system can maneuver 360°. This makes it possible to turn and reverse very easily anywhere, even on a narrow strip. Due to the non-track and non-slip composition of the tracks, this stair climber maintains maximum grip on any surface, indoors or outdoors, even on irregular steps. Moreover, no damage is left anywhere on the surface. Operation is done in a simple and intuitive way with a joystick, as it were with one finger. A software update is done automatically and online thanks to Zonzini Connectivity, which also allows one to locate the system at any time (GPS) and remotely check the status in real time."
