Make no mistake: a patio cover is not only for extensive gardens or immense terraces next to a swimming pool. On a roof terrace or attached to a penthouse, many floors higher, they also prove their added value. Especially since it allows you to create extra outdoor space in a limited area that you can use all year round. Although there are of course a number of issues involved.
Wind resistance and durability of patio covers are absolutely important for roof terraces and penthouses: after all, they are more susceptible to wind and other weather influences in their heights than at ground level. That is why Renson took its patio covers to the most hurricane-prone coastal areas of Florida, where the Camargue passed all the tests with flying colors and obtained the 'Miami Dade' certificate. The reinforced mounting feet also contribute to even greater wind resistance for patio covers in height.
Wind-resistant screens, as side infills on a roof terrace, are a particularly interesting option for sitting sheltered under your patio roof from the wind that often has free rein. With a wind resistance of up to 60 km/h, Renson screens are more than adequate for use even high up on a building. By the way, an optional wind sensor ensures that your slat roof closes and the screens are rolled up in time to avoid damage in strong winds.
Both the Algarve, Camargue and Camargue Skye patio covers with tilting (and in the case of the Skye even sliding) slat roofs are suitable for this type of application, as are Renson's patio covers with screen roofs (Lapure). All listed canopies are also perfectly linkable to cover a complete terrace. Available in custom sizes, they are therefore suitable for any project.
With the new Algarve Canvas a roof terrace can now also be covered with a fixed roof and a slatted roof. Available in all RAL colors, you can extend the consistent look & feel of the apartment (joinery color) to the terrace.
Numerous options such as heat & sound beam, sliding glass panels, screens, LED lighting, glass slats in the roof mean that you can turn a terrace covering into a luxurious outdoor space with every comfort. Another good thing is that a terrace covering attached to a facade with large windows also serves as an awning to regulate sunlight and prevent overheating indoors on hot days.
