On May 17, Hans Zwaanenburg, director of the VMRG, presented the first copy of the book Façades 2019 to Benthem Crouwel Architects, winner of BNA Best Building of the Year 2019. Jan Benthem, architect of the winning project Noord/Zuidlijn Amsterdam, accepted the book. Noord/Zuidlijn was realized under the VMRG Hallmark. VMRG Hallmark company Kingspan|Brakel Atmos collaborated on the two overhead stations of this project.
Façades 2019 consists of 145 pages of diverse façade construction projects in which VMRG companies have been involved. The book is divided into renovation, non-residential, residential and solar projects and, with many beautiful photographs, provides a nice overview of projects completed over the past two years.
Sustainability
This eleventh edition of the Façades book focuses on frontrunners. Without frontrunners, no progress and innovation. The VMRG and its companies strive to be frontrunners. This is reflected in the articles, but there is also an increasing focus on innovation in the projects. Each project indicates whether the project has been realized under the VMRG Quality Mark. All companies with this quality mark deliver guaranteed quality in the field of facades. They are regularly inspected for this. Also winner of BNA Best Building of the Year, Noord/Zuidlijn Amsterdam, was realized under the VMRG Hallmark. Since July 2016, an architect or professional client can demand that a facade comply with this hallmark. Until now, it was only possible to refer to the VMRG Quality Requirements in specifications. Requiring a seal of approval was not allowed. The new European procurement directives do offer room to prescribe the VMRG Hallmark.

The book is also onlineview. The online version contains links for each project to more information about the project and about the company that was involved in this project.
