Interest in solar shading in insulation glass grows

Perhaps you had never heard of this form of sun protection. However, it does exist, and Polysun^® is the only company in the Benelux that is fully specialized in this. The company combines knowledge about glass with know-how about sun and light regulation and installs the blind, plissé, plissé black out or roller blind in the insulation glass.

With systems from Polysun^® people can play with natural light. By tilting the system, it either blocks out sun and heat as needed or lets sun and heat in. With a proper form of control, this creates a dynamic facade. "Our systems not only regulate the amount of light, but are also capable of admitting and blocking heat," states Managing Director Albert Contant. "Highly reflective slats let light into the building, coating on slats pushes heat out so it stays cool inside. Solar shading in insulating glass achieves values equal to exterior solar shading. By choosing the right combination, we can get down to G-values of five percent."

Customization in facades

Each project is unique and Polysun^® realizes a customized solution for every situation. "For projects, for example, we make glass corners and can produce systems up to over 11 square meters, where we also work with extracted joints and bowl systems," the case manager continues. "The application of Polysun^® systems also ensures an untouched facade appearance!"

Developments in dimensions and control

At Polyclose, Polysun presents^® some spectacular developments in terms of the possible dimensions, but also with regard to control. "The control of facades or facade parts can be done by linking with BMS systems such as KNX. This allows us to create a system that meets every user requirement, as well as issues such as EPB and BREEAM," indicates Managing Director Contant. "Now that demand from the Dutch market is also increasing, the number of electricians and installation teams receiving training in the specific knowledge needed to guarantee the end result in Temse, Flanders, is simultaneously increasing."
