An uninterrupted thermally insulated and airtight building envelope is indispensable for buildings to meet increasingly stringent energy standards. Soudal, renowned manufacturer of quality insulation and sealing products, offers solutions for optimal installation and sealing of exterior joinery.
At Polyclose, all spotlights will be focused on the modular window mounting system SoudaFrame SWI. Furthermore, under Soudal Window Manufacturing, the company is presenting a collection of bonding products for the window and door sector.
The Soudal Group focuses on construction, industry and retail with products in different groups: silicones and other mastics, PU foams, adhesives, coatings, technical aerosols and construction chemicals. "We continuously invest in our production sites at home and abroad and are committed to targeted acquisitions. At Tenachem in Latvia, for example, they produce joint sealants for sealing double-glazing, and by acquiring Belgian company Sapac P&R, we can offer solutions for (post-)insulating PVC or aluminum window profiles," says marketing manager Filip Van Mieghem.
Under the name Soudal Window Manufacturing, Soudal offers a collection of high-end industrial adhesive products for the window and door industry.
"Innovation is the engine of our organic growth. A team of highly qualified and driven researchers, engineers and technicians is constantly developing new products and applications adapted to the needs of customers in each specific country. Witness to this include the modular window mounting system and high-end bonding products for windows and doors, which we are highlighting at Polyclose."
SoudaFrame SWI (Soudal Window Installation) is an intelligent modular assembly system with L-profiles made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP), a rock-solid, lightweight material with high load-bearing (up to almost 800 kg/m) and insulating capacity.
"When the window is mounted in the insulation plane, the isotherms run straight through insulation and window, achieving significantly better heat loss scores at the wall-window transition (psi values)," says product manager Steven Van Orshaegen.
"In addition, we wanted to get rid of the cumbersome, often complex sealing methods involved in using window anchors. The pre-frame can be assembled both in the workshop and on site, after which it is mounted as a single unit against the wall using a specifically developed adhesive with extra-high initial adhesion, Soudaseal SWI. This leaves the placer's hands free to properly align the pre-frame and further fully secure it with a few bolts."
At Polyclose, Soudal is introducing the new intelligent modular
window mounting system SoudaFrame SWI in the spotlight.
"Unique spring clips guarantee a uniform joint between pre- and window frame. This makes it possible to calculate exactly how much product is needed to seal the window joints even before construction begins. What's more, because the pre-frame is sized to fit the window frame, it is no longer necessary to wait until the wall is effectively erected to measure and produce the windows. Any construction tolerances can be accommodated by the alignment of the pre-frame with the wall, allowing the project to be realized faster and with higher quality. After the window frame is screwed directly into the SoudaFrame SWI frame, the clips are removed and the joint is filled, sealed and finished with products from the Soudal Window System range."
Soudal also develops and produces solutions for bonding all kinds of materials. "We know that a lot of chemistry is used in the window and door sector, which is why we have also developed a specific range for this market," Van Orshaegen points out.
"Under the name Soudal Window Manufacturing (SWM), we are launching a collection of high-end industrial adhesive products for use in the production of windows and doors."
