Reduce noise pollution

Research shows that more than 20% of the Dutch experience long-term noise pollution. Using a door set with the right soundproofing performance can greatly reduce the nuisance. During an online webinar on October 28, 2020, specialists from test institute Peutz, consultancy firm DGMR and GND warranty doors will explain how sound is measured, what definitions there are, what the correct application is and how soundproof doors and door frames are checked. This includes both utility and residential new construction and transformation.

Sound is a complex matter. There is much confusion about the terms used, sound values and required sound insulation. The expectations of comfort levels and the perception of clients, building owners and users are often not easy to translate into performance requirements for sound insulation. As a result, the likelihood of dissatisfaction among clients and users as a result of an incorrectly chosen or installed door set is high. Solving these problems often leads to modifications that involve significant and unforeseen repair costs. Therefore, knowledge of sound values and correct application is of great importance.

The online webinar will be held on Oct. 28, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., is interactive and open to everyone free of charge. The webinar is aimed at officials of residential and commercial construction clients, developers, architects and consultants and executives involved in requirements drafting and verification.
