"Duco shows BENG-proof ventilation solutions at VSK"

The installation sector is changing. The demand for knowledge about developments and practical implementation is greater than ever. With two firsts, ventilation specialist Duco is already giving you two good reasons to attend VSK 2020. The exhibition stand will showcase all the latest developments for the ventilation industry through 5 smart living concepts: renovation, new construction, passive, active and collective living.

Smart ventilation

Ventilation with zone control makes an important contribution to a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. 'Zone control means smart ventilation,' says Hendrik Dejonghe, marketing manager at Duco. 'We only ventilate the rooms that demand it, which results in extra energy savings and comfort. According to BENG, ventilation is possible with both a C- and D-system. Duco offers an intelligent variant of both systems with zone control with the DucoBox Focus and DucoBox Energy Premium. In 2018, the ventilation heat pump DucoBox Eco with zone control also saw the light of day. An absolute first during VSK 2020 will be the DucoBox Energy Comfort and the demand-controlled roof fan Duco RoofFan.'

Compact WTW unit

'The DucoBox Energy Comfort balanced ventilation unit with heat recovery provides maximum relief to the installer. The high-tech, compact WTW-unit contains all the latest software and is perfectly left/right exchangeable, without physical interventions. The left/right exchange is 100% done by software thanks to a patented principle of double by-pass. With its adjustable capacity of up to 325 m³/h and convenient copy function for series construction the ventilation solution for apartments and compact housing construction. The dynamic air distribution filters, together with smart demand control based on CO₂and moisture, for exceptional efficiency within this compact unit.'

Collective projects

'But there's more, during VSK we will unleash our demand-controlled roof ventilator Duco RoofFan on the public,' Dejonghe beams. 'With the Duco RoofFan (up to 2400 m² at 150 Pa), each living area is ventilated separately and demand-controlled. Together with our intelligent control damper Intelli Air Valve, the pressure-controlled roof fan guarantees efficient exhaust air within the entire building. The pressure control ensures perfect distribution of flow rates in collective ventilation systems.'

All-Electric or Hybrid?

During VSK 2020, Duco will also answer questions about sustainable heat pump concepts. Dejonghe: 'We still have 30 years to make six million homes sustainable, quite a task! The ventilation heat pump DucoBox Eco makes maximum use of sustainable energy generation to spare the environment and combines that with gas or electricity to achieve the desired comfort level'

The DucoBox Eco can be applied within two concepts: All-Electric or Hybrid. 'In the All-Electric setup, the DucoBox Eco is linked to a 300-liter technical buffer tank,' Dejonghe continues. 'If switching to an All-Electric system is too drastic, then a Hybrid solution is an excellent intermediate step. The DucoBox Eco has a guaranteed output of 2.5 kW to meet the heat demand. If the heat demand exceeds the supply, a combi boiler steps in. Coupling the ventilation heat pump to a combi boiler with boiler tank dramatically lowers the gas demand, resulting in energy savings of up to 60%.'

'By applying the DucoBox Eco within the DucoTronic System, you comply with BENG 2 and BENG 3,' explains Dejonghe. 'Moreover, supply and exhaust are nicely balanced. If you opt for TronicTwin fabric sunblinds & the NightVent night ventilation hatch, you will fully comply with BENG 1 + TO July. Choosing a Duco ventilation system is therefore choosing a future proof home.'

There are still many questions about the interpretation of the BENG requirements regarding ventilation systems.
