Automation of production is of interest to every sector

Companies continue to invest in the automation, extensive or otherwise, of their production. This also applies to window and door manufacturers, the facade construction sector and sunshade manufacturers. Elumatec, the world market leader in the production of machines for processing aluminum, plastic and steel profiles, is therefore once again presenting a number of striking innovations at Polyclose. As in previous editions, the manufacturer is in its familiar place in Hall 1, next to partner Orgadata and amidst customers, profile system houses, suppliers and software specialists.

Last year, Elumatec celebrated its 90th anniversary. The company started in 1928 with the production of light metal sand castings, but today has become the world market leader in the development and production of profile processing machines.

"Close cooperation with customers is one of the most important keys to our success. We listen to market needs and our R&D department then converts the trends into innovative solutions. We supply machine tools to partners in the construction sector, but also for industrial applications," states Bas Ladestein, managing director of Elumatec Benelux BV. "It is noticeable that more and more companies are taking the step to automate their production processes. This also applies to the window and door sector, facade construction and sun protection. We are responding to this at Elumatec by investing heavily in new applications and products, from large to small and for all segments. Profile machining center and complete machining unit

At Polyclose, Elumatec is once again unpacking a number of eye-catching novelties, including the 4-axis profile machining machines SBZ 141 and SBZ 122/73 and the complete SBZ 628 XXL machining unit with rotary machining ring and equipped with two sawing units.

With the SBZ 141, the company presents a 4-axis profile machining center for the economical and efficient machining of aluminum and thin-walled steel profiles. All machining operations, such as milling, drilling and tapping, are performed on a stationary clamped profile and steplessly between -90° and +90° with any available tool. The travelling tool magazine with space for eight tools ensures shorter changeover times and optimum machining cycles. For double profile clamping and end machining, this machine optionally includes a rotatable right-angle milling head with two different tools (0° - 90° - 180° - 270°).

SBZ 628 XXL includes up to eight spindles for milling or drilling and offers cutting capabilities of
0° to 180° (tilting), supplemented by a sawing aggregate of 45° to 135° (tilting).

"Also with the revolutionary 4-axis profile machining center SBZ 122/73, all machining is done on a stationary clamped profile. This machine includes a steplessly positionable A-axis from -120° to +120° and the machining unit can be positioned at a speed of up to 120 m/min. thanks to the dynamic servo drives," adds Bas Ladestein.

"Finally, the SBZ 628 XXL machining aggregate offers maximum flexibility for machining and sawing aluminum profiles. This pass-through machine includes up to eight spindles for milling or drilling and offers various sawing options from 0° to 180° (swivel), complemented by a sawing aggregate from 45° to 135° (incline). Depending on the profile cross section, five to ten profiles with a length of 1500 - 7600 mm can be laid on this system. This aggregate will be demonstrated live, in a booth enclosed by Plexiglas. In addition, all machines are 'eluCloud Ready', which opens doors to Industrie 4.0 and the Smart Factory."
