An across-the-board success for the software house
Finally, physical contact was possible again and Klaes' team was able to demonstrate the software to visitors.

A success across the board for the software house

How do you optimize workflow and digitization?

For software house Klaes, Polyclose was a success. The many visitors were happy to have real physical contact again ánd they were also enthusiastic about Klaes' products. The team led by sales manager Torsten Schrader could only be satisfied. There were even visitors from France. Our new employee for the Netherlands and Belgium was busy, because the customers asked for him directly, in order to be able to have a conversation in their own language.

New contacts primarily wanted to map their building elements made of wood, plastic and aluminum: windows and doors, as well as patio roofs and awnings. With existing customers, it was mainly about workflow optimization and digitization to expand their current capabilities. The packages "Mawi", "Kapa", "e-prod", "Info Manager" and "Document Management" were therefore in great demand.

Software for window production

A uniform way of working for all material types is very important to Klaes. There are differences only in the technical details at the profile level. Moreover, input can be done very efficiently thanks to intelligent pre-integrated allocations and customizable types. There are input systems for different user groups: from simple and fast per type list to very complex per individual construction with scalable entry levels.

Digitization, however, transcends its own application. Active cooperation with the supply industry ensures that Klaes has a great deal of individually prepared data from a variety of suppliers, for example profiles, fittings and glass. Thanks to integrated web configurators for roller shutters and door panels, close cooperation with suppliers from these industries is possible, all in accordance with the principles of Industry 4.0.

This way, not all data has to be stored twice, but one can directly access the supplier's data when entering windows. Drawings, prices, texts, technical information and a unique order ID are linked to a particular item and further processed. OpenTRANS takes care of the data transfer between company and supplier from order to invoice.

The multifunctional tree structure not only ensures transparency, but also allows order lines to be split or merged at any point in the workflow. For example, a window, a facade element and a door can be ordered together, but still become separate production orders, because they are also produced and delivered separately. The different orders then run through production, automatically divided into production batches if required, in order to maximize capacity utilization. The production documents include all necessary information to work efficiently - on paper but of course also digitally to control the machines.

Organizing work optimally

Companies are placing more and more importance on end-to-end digitization to best support the various work divisions. This involves the exchange of documents, assignments and other important information. However, many companies do not have a specific department to fully implement such projects themselves. Therefore, Klaes supports here with a detailed analysis of the way of working, a concept with optimized workflows and meaningful support during implementation. Klaes Info Manager and DMS Integration - the intelligent solution for document management - are used to make processes beyond production efficient as well.

A "paperless" production process with Klaes e-prod occurs mainly in the manufacture of plastic systems. Usually this way of working is introduced step by step in order to quickly enjoy the benefits. Interest in this digital way of working is also growing among manufacturers of wooden windows.

Various building elements

However, uniform digital workflows only work if all building elements can be mapped in detail. This is why Klaes has solutions not only for windows, but also for other building elements. Klaes 3D is a software for conservatories, front and curtain walls, patio covers, winter gardens or even pergolas with real 3D data core. Impressive live presentation of the structures are possible via the Augmented Reality App. Klaes Tür Designer allows the user to design and calculate entrance and interior doors in a very flexible way. The production of the solid leaf and frame structures is perfectly organized, from prefabrication to CNC systems.
