Polyclose 2026 launches the PolycloseSummit: knowledge, innovation, and practice in one powerful program

On January 14, 15, and 16, 2026, Polyclose, with more than 200 exhibitors, will once again bring together the entire window, door, sun protection, facade, and access technology sector at Flanders Expo Ghent. The 2026 edition will feature an important first: the PolycloseSummit will be organized for the first time, a three-day event focusing on expertise, innovation, and strategic insights.

The Summit is the beating heart of the trade fair, where architects, contractors, installers, facade builders, carpenters, engineering firms, and policymakers discover which technological, regulatory, and market-driven developments will shape their work in the coming years.

Four pillars are central to this — PolycloseAcademy, PolycloseTalks, PolyclosePreviews, and PolycloseLabs — which together form a comprehensive and forward-looking knowledge platform.

PolycloseAcademy – Practical masterclasses with Nathan Van Den Bossche

The brand-new PolycloseAcademy will be one of the major highlights of the Summit. In this first edition, Prof. Nathan Van Den Bossche—construction technologist, head of the facade element testing center at Ghent University, and trained carpenter—will guide visitors through “The 10 carpentry trends towards 2030”.

Not a theoretical story, but a practical workshop based on hundreds of tests, international training courses, and real-life construction site experience. From evolving glazing structures and hybrid profiles to new fitting principles, digitization of measurements, noise-canceling windows, double window systems, and the remarkable revival of prefab: the Academy shows which techniques, choices, and developments will soon have a real impact on the workplace.

The PolycloseAcademy is organized every day of the trade fair and is the perfect opportunity for professionals who want to stay ahead of the curve and be prepared for tomorrow's challenges.

PolycloseTalks – Strategic insights for a sector in transition

The PolycloseTalks bring together researchers, federations, policymakers, and market players to discuss the most important challenges of today and tomorrow. The five talks follow the titles and content of the official program and form a continuous thread throughout the Summit.

The Summit opens on Wednesday, January 14, with the Talk – Heat alert for homes in Belgium: how can we keep it cool indoors in 2050?. KU Leuven, Archipelago, Nieman, and VITO are presenting a new large-scale climate study on future heat stress in Belgian homes for the first time. The panel will take a closer look at the impact of the EPBD recast, necessary design principles, and how Flanders should make its renovation and construction policy climate-proof by 2050.

This is followed by the Talk – Safety, standards, and quality in facade construction, in which experts from Bouwunie, Bouwwereld, Profiel & Z&R, and other players discuss how regulations, fire safety, CE harmonization, and quality assurance are changing practice—and how technical requirements relate to feasibility on the construction site.

On Thursday, the Talk – Innovations in sun protection & smart shading On the agenda. Romazo, Verozo, and independent comfort experts compare best practices in outdoor sun protection, integration into facade design, automated control, and summer comfort in residential and commercial construction.

Later that day, the Talk – Energy efficiency and comfort: the building as energy manager, in which MWA, Pixxi, Bouwunie, and Glas in Beeld are investigating how insulation, glass, airtightness, ventilation, acoustics, monitoring, and data quality together define the high-performance building envelope of the future.

On Friday, the Summit concludes with the Talk – Circular facades and sustainable materials. Pixxi, Embuild, Bouwunie, Buildwise, and Sapa/Hydro Building Systems discuss demountable systems, LCA, material passports, bio-based materials, circular business models, and how the facade sector can drastically reduce its CO₂ impact.

Together, the PolycloseTalks form a strategic compass for anyone who wants to anticipate regulations, tightening, and technological acceleration.

PolyclosePreviews – Catch up on the latest innovations at the trade show in just half an hour

The PolyclosePreviews provide visitors with a quick, dynamic, and clear overview of the most important product innovations at Polyclose 2026 on each day of the trade fair. In approximately 30 minutes, a moderator presents the most relevant innovations in window, door, sun protection, facade, and access technology.

The Previews include innovations from, among others: AlloTools, Backforce, BENGglas, Bohle, Buildtechnics, BUVA, CiiLOCK, Comhan Holland, Deceuninck, DL Chemicals, DUCO, Eosol, First Base Ground Screws, FUHR, Hamulight, Harinck Frager, Hive CPQ, JACKON Insulation, KNELSEN/JMB Wall Anchors, Kömmerling, Locinox, MACO, Merkato CPQ, ONLEVEL, Renson, ROTOX, SADEV, Sapa, Soenen, Solaye Fabrics, SUN WINNER GROUP, Sunsails Export (Soliday), TRYMA, Unilux, WAREMA Renkhoff SE

Every day, previews are organized in both Dutch and English/French, giving visitors from across the Benelux and international professionals a complete overview of what the fair has to offer in their own language.

PolycloseLabs – Practical solutions, demonstrations, and technical insights

The PolycloseLabs form the practical backbone of the Summit. In compact, hands-on sessions, manufacturers demonstrate how their systems respond to current challenges such as renovation, overheating, fire safety, circularity, digitization, and installation quality—each time with concrete applications from practice.

During these Labs, exhibitors such as 3 E Data Technology, AlloTools, Backforce, BENGglas, BUVA, Deceuninck, DUCO, Eribel, Forster, Hive CPQ, Jackon Insulation, Kömmerling, Merkato, ONLEVEL, Orgadata, Renson, Reynaers Aluminium, ROTOX, SADEV, Sapa (Hydro Building Systems), SEM Poorten, Sherwin-Williams, TRYMA, and Weemaes how they translate technological innovations into reliable, feasible, and future-proof solutions.

Whether it concerns vacuum glass in heritage buildings, passive cooling, steel and aluminum circular profiles, smart sun protection integration, production automation, or digital configuration platforms: the Labs make Polyclose's innovation tangible.
