Concealed horizontal tilt and turn hardware for wooden, PVC and aluminum windows with 16 mm Eurogroove

Previously, those who wanted to use concealed-tilt hardware had to consider size and weight limitations. With today's technology, however, it is possible to manufacture larger and heavier windows. Roto Window and Door Technology (FTT) introduced Roto NX Designo, a concealed version based on the popular Roto NX Tilt&Turn hardware. This innovation is suitable for timber, PVC and aluminium windows with a 16 mm Eurogroove.

Concealed hinges

Roto continuously invests in the optimization of its product range. Thus the manufacturer developed the innovative concealed Roto NX Designo Tilt&Turn hardware, suitable for timber and PVC windows as well as for aluminium profiles with a 16 mm Eurogroove. Manufacturers of aluminum windows, but also those who supply frames made of different materials, can thus use one unique window hardware system for all their products.

"Roto NX Designo on aluminum is suitable for frame sizes of 1400 mm wide and 2600 mm high and can be used for most tilt and turn windows. There are even systems specifically tested and approved for elements up to 3000 mm high," says Chris Cauwenberghs, head of product range marketing for Roto Western Europe.

"The hinges are suitable for sashes weighing up to 150 kg, which also allows smaller windows with thicker and more thermally efficient glazing. In addition, appearance was also considered, because when the window is closed, the hinges are completely invisible - an aspect that is highly appreciated by consumers."

Ease of assembly and adjustment

Roto Window and Door Technology (FTT) also paid attention to ease of assembly and adjustment. Thus the hardware can be assembled manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically during production. The number of parts is limited, allowing different window sizes to be produced with the same machine. "We trained the fitters, after which they can install the hardware quickly and easily. Assembly is easier than with a traditional aluminum system, and the risk of errors is significantly lower. So it is easier to find employees, who can perform the task. This allows a more flexible use of personnel and keeping more people on the job when demand increases," Cauwenberghs continued. "For fine adjustment, these hinges can be adjusted in all directions using a 4 mm Allen wrench. Our videos on YouTube show how to do it."

Respecting norms and regulations

Thanks to the treatment with RotoSil Level 6, the Roto NX Designo hardware exceeds the requirements for corrosion resistance that apply in industry today. Nanotechnology ensures an even and self-healing finish, resistant to extreme temperatures and humid environments. This hardware is compatible with other Roto systems, some of which use the same components, simplifying logistics and warehouse management.

"This hardware has also been tested and approved for aluminum profiles in accordance with all applicable standards, including EN13126-8, EN 1627 and SKG**," indicates Gerry Claassens, Roto sales manager for Benelux.

"The Roto V mushroom cam with adjustable height and pressure force provides increased safety. Our patented TiltSafe technology also plays a role in this regard. Thanks to three equal steel security strikers, combined with locking lugs and a lockable handle, a window in tilted position is burglar-resistant to class RC 2.
