Self-adhesive tapes are indispensable when installing windows and doors

Adhesive tapes are indispensable when installing windows and doors

There are many reasons why double-sided tapes are increasingly replacing, for example, liquid adhesives and mechanical mounting systems for fastening applications in the construction industry. Freedom of design, time savings and clean working methods are just a few examples.

With the tesa® ACXplus 707x family offers specialist tesa an ideal solution for fixing panels, glass and decorative strips at doors and mounting glazing, mouldings and profiles at windows. For example, the tape is used when mounting the Magnetude® system with wing-covered door panels from the Harinck company, which works with magnetism instead of gluing.

tesa develops technical tapes and self-adhesive system solutions that are used in a wide variety of industrial, professional and private applications. For example, professionals in the construction industry use tesa's self-adhesive tapes to affix partitions, wall coverings, and ceilings, to install decorative panels in elevators, to affix reinforcing profiles, and so on, but above all to assemble windows and doors.

"With our tesa® ACXplus 707x series we offer a series of self-adhesive tapes, which are used for the quick fixing of panels, decorative strips, baffle plates and glass elements on doors and the mounting of mouldings, profiles and glazing on windows," says Technical Sales and Application Support Jens Emmerich. "They are distinguished by their high adhesive strength and high initial adhesion, even on difficult materials. In addition, these products exhibit excellent resistance to UV radiation and temperature fluctuations."

For example, those tapes are used to assemble the innovative Magnetude® system of sash covering door panels for aluminum and PVC joinery. This patented solution by the company Harinck uses magnetism and thus offers the window manufacturer many advantages over traditional systems with glued panels.

"Since the outer plate is not glued here, it can move freely over the sash, so it does not deform and the door can always be opened and closed easily," explains Franck De Munster of Harinck.

"In addition, the assembly of this system takes only takes 6 minutes, while a classic assembly takes more than 2 hours. The added value of tesa® ACXplus is that the outer plate is held up by sixteen magnets each pulling 30 kg in combination with three 2.5-mm-thick steel slats. Crucial to the proper functioning of the system is the fast and even attachment of the steel slats to the aluminum plate."
