CESnederland is conquering the access control market with a new cloud-based electronic locking system that combines high user convenience and easy management with high locking precision, high functional security and attractive design. CESentry consists of a user-friendly management platform and modern locking and access devices for residential and commercial buildings. From electronic cylinders to electronic hardware and an electronic wall reader, which are connected to RFID media or the smartphones of selected users.
Because all access rights are managed via the CESentry web client (browser) and CESentry AdminApp (smartphone), complex software is not an issue. System data is securely stored in the cloud, hosted by Vodafone, and access rights are always up-to-date.
Access rights no longer have to be handed over in person, as with classic keys, but can be assigned to a smartphone "over the air" with the CESentry AdminApp or CESentry web client. Here it is also possible to enter specific dates or time periods. Thanks to an intuitive, cross-platform operating concept, settings and changes are synchronized in real time. "The operation of CESentry is very simple," emphasizes Ronald Boon, director of CESnederland. "Communication between the CESentry AccessApp and the locking device (the electronic cylinder or wall reader) is via the smartphone's Bluetooth® Low Energy connection. As soon as the smartphone approaches the door and locking device and smartphone 'recognize' each other, the lock can be unlocked." Depending on the settings, users have a few seconds to do this, after which the cylinder locks again. "This ensures access security."
Without the user noticing, data is also transferred when the door is opened, Boon says. "In a split second, access rights are checked, rights of other users on the locking device are updated or locked, any device configurations are changed and events are transferred from the locking devices. Similarly, software updates or system updates are sent to the locking devices. This saves the user of the CESentry system time and costs, as door inspections and service are reduced to a minimum." The locking devices are always up-to-date. Additional infrastructure, such as cabling for online connections, is not required.
The CESentry system accurately tracks who operated which door and when. "Events can be easily viewed and analyzed via the CESentry AdminApp," Boon says. "For important events, push notifications can also be defined, which are sent directly to the smartphone. For example, a dead battery or an attempted unauthorized entry can be quickly identified. The same applies if a key is lost - regardless of whether it is an RFID key or a smartphone access right. Simply locking in the AdminApp is sufficient to ensure access security."
The CESentry apps can be downloaded for free in the Apple AppStore and Google Playstore. "Use of the locking devices requires a system license. For individuals or smaller companies, a free Basic license with 20 IDs is available, which can be expanded by 20 more IDs for a fee if desired. For larger companies or government agencies, a Business license is available for a fee, which can be expanded by 100 IDs each time to a system size of up to 1,000 IDs."
An ID can be either a locking device, a smartphone or an RFID locking medium, Boon says. "A Basic license can easily be upgraded to a Business license, lowering the barrier to entry."
Those who choose the Business license benefit from some attractive additional features such as an office function and the possibility of person and door group layouts.
To ensure that the workday runs smoothly, doors can be given an office function. "Authorized persons can very simply activate the office function when opening the door," Boon points out. "In this case, the door remains unlocked for a longer period of time, allowing employees, customers and/or service providers, for example, to walk in freely. Just until the door is actively closed again or when the set time has expired."
It is also possible to divide people or doors into groups and define access rights for each group. This further simplifies the administration of the locking system.
Smart technology has never been more attractive. The new CESentry series features an attractive and uniform design. Aesthetic, optical, haptic and functional advantages were clearly at the center of the development. The many varieties of electronic cylinders and fittings are unique, allowing all door and design requirements to be met.
"All products within the CESentry line are made of high-quality materials with a long service life," Boon says. "In the standard version, the visible parts are made of brushed stainless steel and the reading units of high-quality black plastic. Locking units are optionally available in the familiar CES colors or with a PVD coating. At no additional charge, we also offer all-black versions. Various color LEDs make the various communication channels visible."
Within CESentry, any form of cylinder can be implemented electronically. "With our new cylinder, electronic access has become a playing field," Boon said. "Within the new series, both double knob cylinders, double-sided reading cylinders, half cylinders, blind cylinders, hybrid cylinders, tail cylinders, double cylinders with gear operation, automatic cylinders for mailboxes and padlocks are available. From Swiss profile to Scandinavian profile and/or 20 mm round: with CESentry, users no longer need a single key, but get easy access to everything important. This also makes CESentry very suitable for renovation projects."
The battery of the electronic cylinders is located in the outside knob and can be replaced quickly and easily. "Finally, two flattened edges on the cylinder knob provide a better and finer grip and operation."
The CESentry hardware is extremely slim and flat in design and meets the most stringent design requirements. "There is a choice of longitudinal shields and counterfittings, in both narrow and wide versions," Boon explains. "In addition, we offer a compact shield for operating shots or in combination with existing rose hardware."
For interior doors, reuse of the existing hardware on the inside of the door is possible. "Very nice, moreover, is that the wide shield (renovation shield) covers all existing hole patterns. Thanks to variable fastening positions, there is no need to re-drill in the door."
All door technology is concealed in the exterior hardware, which simplifies maintenance and service. This eliminates the need to run cables from the outside to the inside. All electronic fittings are compatible with the complete FSB standard range of door handles. A burglar-resistant (SKG) version for external doors is also available as an option.
For access control at automatic doors, sliding doors, revolving doors or barrier systems, CESentry offers a design-oriented wall reader in both flush-mounted and surface-mounted versions. CESentry is available as of now. The first orders are currently being delivered.
