Hydro acquires Hueck

Hueck is a family business and supplier of aluminum systems and extruded aluminum profiles, headquartered in Lüdenscheid, Germany. The company has 500 employees and operates two extrusion presses and a foundry. Hueck has two business units: Hueck Extrusion and Hueck Systems.

The acquisition will strengthen and complement Hydro Extrusions' position in Europe. It will strengthen Hydro Building Systems with the SAPA and WICONA brands in Germany and other European markets, enabling it to offer its customers a quality service with an even more comprehensive product range and innovative products.

Operating primarily in Germany, the largest segment of the European building systems market, Hueck Systems has 60 years of experience in "German Engineering. It specializes in developing solutions for windows, doors and facades for the construction industry and has a distribution platform at its headquarters in Lüdenscheid. In addition to Germany, Hueck also operates in Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, as well as in other markets thanks to close partnerships.

Hydro Building Systems provides innovative sustainable aluminum solutions for windows, doors and facades, and is a leader in pursuing a fully circular economy. Our SAPA and WICONA brands develop and distribute advanced aluminum building systems for all types of buildings. With 3,200 employees, Hydro Building Systems is committed to sustainability and the development of new sustainable solutions that include at least 75 percent recycled and 95 percent recyclable material - reducing the material impact on a building's life cycle.

Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of competition authorities in Germany and Austria and is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
