Just like during the previous two editions, Lecot will be present at the Polyclose fair in Ghent in 2022 under the name Optimont (= optimal assembly). The company is still convinced that a proper assembly is essential to obtain a high quality end product, in accordance with the current laws and regulations and in line with all wishes and requirements regarding sustainability, energy efficiency, automation and airtight building.
Lecot is one of the leading suppliers of window, door and furniture fittings, tools, machinery, safety materials and hardware in the Netherlands and Belgium.
"As an organization, we go far beyond sec supplying products," emphasizes Group Manager for Window and Door Technology Belgium Karel Vanderweeën. "Unburdening the customer is central to us. A good example of this are our logistics processes, which are fully automated. We also pay explicit attention to the assembly process: from the possible dismantling of windows and doors to (internal and external) transport, assembly, finishing and delivery. Because we can develop, produce and deliver a 'good' product... if the assembly is not done in the right way, the end user is still negative about the end result. Optimont is changing this."
Because external installation services are often hired for the installation of windows and doors in addition to frame manufacturing firms with their own installation services, Lecot has developed an Optimont manual that accurately describes the complete process from work preparation and transportation to completion in 11 steps.
"With the handbook we want to achieve more attention to uniformity and quality during installation, which will ultimately lead to a satisfied end customer and minimal failure costs," said general manager Lecot Nederland Marcel Bontjer. "The handbook is intended for all sectors (wood, aluminum, PVC) and is continuously updated. In addition to the various products, installation guidelines, finishes, protections and cleaning agents, the book shares our knowledge around sustainable, airtight, energy-efficient and energy-neutral construction, right down to the application of electronic access solutions. We have also added helpful tips."
For example, when replacing a window, it is wise to first take the dimensions of the existing window. But also to check that these dimensions match the new element before you install the new window. After all: once the old window is out ....
"This sounds logical, but it is anything but," Bontjer said. "As a result of changing laws and regulations, the way windows and doors have to be assembled is evolving. This requires more and more actions to be taken, which means that chances of error are lurking. In order to overcome this, our installation manual bundles all possible working methods, tips and necessary materials and tools for the Dutch and Belgian markets, as well as describing the most common situations. In this way we try to provide maximum support to our customers and external assembly companies".
During the Polyclose trade fair, this sound assembly is also the focus. The Optimont stand will be constructed six window and door modules, simulating various real installation situations for the Dutch and Belgian markets, says Vanderweeën. "Think for example of the front wall mounting of a window, but also the integration of electronics and the combination with airtight foils. In addition, visitors can see, feel and experience our latest products as well as pay attention to our services."
As an example, he mentions the installation and electronic adjustment of blinds/screens, Lecot Fleet & Connect as well as the extensive software support in Orgadata; a software package for the windows and doors industry that is on the rise. "Among other things, we assist customers with an extensive product library, which includes several tens of thousands of Lecot products. As desired, customers can easily compile a list of the items relevant to them. The program then automatically selects the right hardware for each project based on, for example, window and door dimensions and profiles."
Lecot Fleet stands for worry-free fleet management, where companies no longer purchase electronic and battery-powered tools but rent them. "Here, all worries about investments in equipment, management, maintenance and repairs are outsourced to Lecot. Moreover, companies always have an up-to-date machine park, at a predictable monthly cost. Regardless of the brand they work with," said Vanderweeën.
"Finally, Lecot Connect is our smart tracking and management tool for work materials, eliminating the need to search for lost materials. Inspection documentation and maintenance dates are also accurately tracked, ensuring that materials always comply with all (safety) regulations. In this way, customers are relieved in every respect."
