Continuous growth, but not at the expense of product quality and service.
For every manufacturing company, it comes down to providing answers to market demands again and again. Architects, project agencies, construction consultancies, housing corporations, contractors, dealers and investors have been able to call on the know-how of Gerdes Fenster und Türen for more than 40 years to work out a suitable solution for plastic frames, windows, doors or sliding doors together. The Lengerich-based manufacturer recently commissioned a third modern production facility, where Schüco aluminum systems are produced to order. Thus, the German frame manufacturer now offers a total package under one roof.

What is popularly called "Gerdes Kozijnen" has been a renowned manufacturer of Schüco frames, windows, doors and sliding doors in plastic for projects in Germany and the Benelux for more than 40 years. All systems are made to measure and delivered at short notice. "We also support our customers in word and deed and can always call on Schüco's craftsmanship. Customized delivery for individual customer requirements is one of our strengths," says sales and marketing manager Benelux Anthonius Gabeler. "From the market, we were increasingly asked to offer aluminum systems in addition to plastic frames, windows and doors. In this way, our offer would also include a solution for applications with larger windows and fire-resistant doors, for example. These are best made out of aluminum, which we had to outsource in the past. This is why we recently decided to expand our services to include Schüco aluminum window frames, made by Gerdes."

To that end, Gerdes commissioned a third factory, where a team led by an experienced business unit manager and a production manager produces aluminum frames, windows, doors, folding walls and lift-and-slide doors according to Schüco's high quality standards. "We invested in modern machinery including a double mitre saw and other profile processing machines, which are linked to Schüco's calculation software. Thanks to these machines, the profiles can be machined both manually and automatically and, under normal circumstances, we can deliver orders within 6 to 8 weeks of confirmation, depending on the delivery of the materials," indicates the sales and marketing manager. "Aluminum is very often used for larger projects, such as schools, hospitals, offices and showrooms, but also for homes with a sleek and modern design, and this in both new construction and renovation. Especially for larger windows, aluminum systems are an ideal solution. They are produced with thermal and sound insulation as desired and supplied in a wide range of different colors. Windows and sliding systems with very slim profiles and doors with a filling according to your wishes are also possible."

Meanwhile, the focus at family business Gerdes remains on customers in Germany and Benelux. "We do get requests from other countries and would like to eventually serve these customers as well," Gabeler concludes. "In the meantime, we do continue to invest in facilities and people. In the meantime, we have a team of about 100 skilled men and women in the office, production and assembly. Deliveries are made with 3 of our own trucks. We have a healthy ambition but even if the company continues to grow, for all intents and purposes this should never be at the expense of quality in product and service."
