We are visiting Geveltechniek IJmond in Beverwijk and it immediately becomes clear that we are talking to an entrepreneur with ambition who has unprecedented drive to always want to do better. But above all with the passion to remain critical.
Peter Schavemaker, commercial director, is not satisfied with less, and it was precisely this trait that brought him into contact with Belgian company Novatio. "We were having increasing problems with our previous supplier's obsolete adhesives. There had to be a new solution!" said Schavemaker.

And it came. Geveltechniek IJmond is one of the first Dutch companies to use Novatio's unique Belgian adhesive and cleaning systems . "The problem with the previous adhesives was that they left too many glue spots. We got just a little too many complaints and objections from the customer base. When the end-users cleaned their window frames, at first nothing seemed wrong to the naked eye, but then, when the sun had shone on them over time, the stains returned or reappeared. Initially you did not see this. I understand that this did not make end-users happy. Actually, I am expressing myself modestly in that regard."
"Of course it's never fun to engage with disappointed customers, but of course they were right. As an entrepreneur, it is your obligation to learn. I tried all sorts of things. Unfortunately, the previous manufacturer did not acknowledge the issue but I also heard that fellow window frame manufacturers were running into the same challenges. That's how I ended up at Novatio in Belgium. I started trying this out. In the process I discovered that it was not only 'just' a new adhesive for the profiles but it was also a different working process. The end result was amazing; the glue is so good that you really don't manage to 'pull' a profile apart anymore, but above all, the original bottleneck was also solved: in time, no more annoying stains either."
"We also really call it a panacea here, and that says a lot because our own guys - I think we have the most accurate employees in the Netherlands - had some skepticism at the outset when Mano Geuns, the Belgian Sales Manager, gave an entire afternoon's presentation and training in the form of a workshop in our own factory." "Fortunately, the conviction was quickly there and so we now consider this adhesive as commonplace, as if you were installing a standard lock."

Mano Geuns is convinced that there are thus still many opportunities in the Netherlands for the profiles and frames industry. "We already noticed this for several years that the typical problems with the latest coating techniques are now also emerging in the Netherlands . Thanks to our unique Novatio concepts and systems, we can upgrade old discolored profiles as well as remove the stains without any problems. At the same time, perfect adhesion to these latest coatings is no problem at all. In Belgium, this cleaning and adhesive concept is now a great success. I think that with this adhesive we make the chain as a whole stronger. The high quality goes hand in hand with the quality of maintenance: cleaning therefore from now on really means cleaning."
