To ensure reliable performance, excellent stability, and a long service life for window frames, windows, and doors, all factors must be just right. From design to production, installation, and finishing—and from windows to doors, window frames, subframes, seals, glass, and hardware. RecyStel supports this with sustainable and insulating subframe profiles, which consist almost entirely of recycled materials and can now be processed even faster and more easily. “Because we can now offer our subframe profiles in multiple widths, they only need to be cut to length,” explains Ivo Würzner, director of RecyStel. “This speeds up installation and ensures an even better end result.”
“RecyStel has expanded its line of adjustable window frame profiles because, in practice, it became clear that many customers needed a wider range of sizes and finishes,” says Würzner. “Thanks to new widths of 90 mm with one or two feet and 100 mm, we can now match existing adjustable window frame sizes even better. From now on, the adjustable window frame profiles only need to be cut to length, which minimizes cutting waste. This makes RecyStel’s adjustable window frame profiles not only an efficient choice but also a cost-effective one.”

In line with the new frame profile sizes, the existing 135- and 204-mm sizes have also been optimized. For example, the 135 mm version is now available with one or two feet, and the 204 mm version is no longer hollow but fully foamed, explains Würzner. “This makes the material even easier to work with, similar to wood.” Installers can easily saw, rout, drill, screw, and staple the frame profiles without the risk of cracking, he explains. “The biggest advantage of plastic, however, is that the quality remains consistent—even over time and in all weather conditions. The material does not warp or twist. Protective and moisture-barrier DPC membranes are therefore not necessary, nor is priming the subframe profiles.” In combination with, for example, Compriband, it is possible to achieve a sturdy, windproof, and watertight finish.
“To ensure reliable installation, it is important that the adjustment frame profile is thick enough,” explains Würzner. “A profile that is too thin does not provide sufficient grip for the screws to securely assemble four framing profiles into a rectangle. There must be sufficient ‘body’ in the corners to accommodate sturdy screws. The RecyStel framing profiles also excel in this regard. Combined with their high durability performance, these framing profiles are truly unique in the market.”
“The RecyStel window frame profiles consist almost entirely of recycled materials, most of which come from old, dismantled window frames and scrap pieces,” says Würzner. “Our ‘donor material’ is high-quality PVC that is completely free of plasticizers. During the extrusion process, a special gas is added to the window frame profiles, causing them to expand. The result is ‘recycled foamed PVC’ with high rigidity and a high thermal insulation value of 0.38 W/m²K, which is up to 40% higher than standard plastic! This makes our profiles many times more sustainable than wood. There are no thermal bridges. Furthermore, the material can be recycled up to 10 times without any loss of quality.”
Sustainability also relates to the service life and maintenance of the window frame profiles. “Plastic cannot rot or develop mold and does not absorb moisture, giving the material a significantly longer service life than wood,” says Würzner. “Plastic also doesn’t require painting—not even on the ends—which significantly lowers the TCO.” Thanks to new packaging formats, RecyStel is now even better aligned with customer needs. “Modules of ten window frame profiles will now be offered in multiple combinations.”
The installation benefits can be further enhanced with RecyClick anchors, which make it possible to easily click glazed sashes into the subframe from the outside. “A major advantage of the RecyClick anchors is that there’s no longer any need to drill into the window frame, which keeps the air chambers intact,” says Würzner. “Because the clip flexes with the expansion and contraction of the frames caused by temperature differences, optimal stability is ensured.” Whereas other solutions require a significant gap between the subframe and the window frame, with RecyClick, 6 to 8 mm is sufficient. “This means the standard gap is sufficient. Furthermore, large gaps do not need to be filled.”
RecyStel frame profiles fully comply with the fire safety requirements for plastic facade elements and are flame-retardant. “The VKG Quality Mark proves that their rigidity, load-bearing capacity, and installation method are all excellent,” says Würzner. “Furthermore, the rigidity contributes to a building’s burglary resistance.”
Despite these advantages and the new dimensions, RecyStel adjustable window frame profiles are competitively priced. “The prices are particularly attractive for large orders,” says Würzner. “For this reason, RecyStel is increasingly focusing on the large-scale business market—in addition to the existing market that purchases through the online store. Custom solutions are offered specifically for this market, with a wide range of possibilities. These include custom lengths for sufficient quantities, logistics solutions, and competitive prices.”
