Hermann Otto starts with the production of putty in 1881, but due to his drive for innovation and optimization, his small company in his backyard quickly grows into a medium-sized enterprise. His life's work has since grown into a specialized manufacturer of sealants and adhesives for a wide variety of applications. Today, the company is run by the 5th generation and delivers products to customers in more than 70 countries. In addition to the extensive and high-quality product range, the know-how and experience of the employees are of crucial importance in providing customers with expert advice and recommending the right product for each specific application.
Adhesives are being used today as a new production technology in many sectors, including window construction. As in the production of cars and aircraft, adhesive technology offers future-oriented window manufacturers numerous advantages. With KOMO-certified OTTOCOLL® S 81 and OTTOCOLL® S 670, the production of wooden, PVC or aluminum profiles is simplified, the quality of windows is improved and their service life is extended. “Our customers benefit from our many years of experience in the window construction sector. We have excellent contacts with all well-known manufacturers of hardware and window systems, as well as with institutes that can subject our products to thorough testing,” explains Stefan Wajand, head of product management. “We work closely with our customers to optimize and automate their production with our products.”
For durable glass sealing, OTTO-CHEMIE offers two highly abrasion-resistant premium sealants: OTTOSEAL® S 110 and OTTOSEAL® S 120. Both products include ‘Fungizid’ and are weather, aging and UV resistant. They are distinguished by a large choice of colors and are suitable for windows in wood, metal and plastic. OTTOSEAL® S 110 in the color DB 703 with iron glimmer particles, for example, fits perfectly with metal window frames. OTTOSEAL®
S 120 is also KOMO-certified.
In addition to products for special applications, OTTO-CHEMIE also offers so-called all-rounders, such as the isocyanate- and silicone-free 1-component hybrid polymer sealant OTTOSEAL® M 360. It is suitable for sealing interior and exterior joints, for bonding construction tapes and for sealing floor thresholds at frame profiles. Thanks to the fast, shrink- and blow-free curing and the paintability, this product guarantees perfect results. Thanks to its extremely high initial adhesion, OTTOCOLL® M 550 HiTack is the solution for a wide range of bonding applications, e.g. for butt and skirting boards at front doors, for external cladding of windows and facade cladding and for bonding window sills and mirrors.
