Total supplier expands door hardware range to include wide-gauge, narrow escutcheons, stainless steel door handles and multi-point locks

Dozon is a total supplier for the interior construction, window frame industry, contracting/construction companies and installation & assembly. The family business has nine branches throughout the country, where installation and assembly companies and freelancers, among others, can go for their supplies. The head office is in Doetinchem, from where the entire plastic and wooden frame industry is supplied. For example, with Edi's broad hardware, May's narrow shields, KWS/Q-design's stainless steel door handles and Fuhr's 835 lock program and multi-point locks for pivot doors, which were recently added to the door hardware range.

With the range expansions, Dozon is answering various -actual market demands, says account manager Marcel Melgers. “For about two years, we have offered narrow-angle fittings from Edi for the plastic market. The expansion to wide-angle fittings for the wood market is then a logical next step. With this we now offer a complete range of aluminum basic door hardware.” Edi's narrow and wide fittings are mainly used in social housing construction, he says. “Because the garnitures are mostly offered in larger quantities, we saw an opportunity to make the packaging more durable. By offering the inner and outer shells in full industrial boxes, considerable savings can be made on packaging materials and construction waste.”

Aluminum trimmings in a thousand colors

From the very beginning, Dozon May has been supplying door hardware for the plastic market. “Part of this was a hardware line with decorative fittings that were ‘PVD beschichtet,’” Melgers said. “This involved applying a color finish to a stainless steel base, which made the hardware quite expensive. There was therefore an increasing demand from the market for a high-quality but more cost-effective alternative to complement the anodized aluminum hardware. May responds to this with aluminum fittings that can be enameled in a thousand colors. In addition, aluminum hardware can now be anodized in six colors. From champagne to light bronze, bronze, brown, black and deep black.” The advantage of anodizing is that the color is embedded ín the aluminum, he says. “This makes the garnish even better protected, while at the same time customers benefit from a more favorable price.”

Complete range of stainless steel front door handles

Another novelty is that Dozon can now offer the full range of KWS/Q-design stainless steel front door handles for plastic, wooden and glass doors. From T-handles to bracket handles, straight handles and curved handles, in various sizes and with a variety of fastening options, a complete catalog of which is currently being compiled.

Multi-point locks for pivot doors

Dozon has also recently taken stock of Fuhr's complete 835 lock program, with a 20 mm faceplate. In addition, the range has been expanded to include multipoint locks for pivot doors. With this, the building technology wholesaler is responding to an important issue, namely that the hanging side of pivot doors did not yet have locks. “Burglary-wise, this is of course not desirable,” Melgers emphasizes. “After all, a pivot door functions like a pivot door, so it is important that both the closing side and hanging side can be securely locked. In cooperation with Fuhr, we came up with a solution, so that from now on the hanging side can also be fitted with a multipoint lock. Closing and hanging sides are then coupled in such a way that they can open and close successively and completely electronically. This brings comfort and burglary protection together nicely.”

New concept for sliding doors

At the Houtpro+ trade fair from November 4 to 7, Dozon will introduce a new concept for a sliding wooden door, developed in cooperation with SIEGENIA, which guarantees high wind and water tightness (up to 600 Pa). In addition, it is presenting the BS 3700 fully automatic multi-point lock from KFV, which is fully self-adjusting. Curious? You can find Dozon in booth 6534 and 6535.
