Italian machine builder Emmegi, part of the Voilàp Group, highlighted a new 5-axis CNC machining center with Satellite XLE. This innovation with moving gantry can mill, drill, thread and cut large profiles in aluminum, PVC and light alloys. Thanks to the powerful electrospindle (11 kW in S1) with HSK-63F toolholder, even heavy machining operations can be performed quickly and precisely. To ensure maximum chip protection, the 18-position tool magazine was integrated at the rear of the machine.
"A number of details make this machining center unique. For example, it is equipped with robust, motorized vices, which position themselves independently and simultaneously with respect to the machining processes of the spindle. All CNC axes are absolute, eliminating the need to reset them when the machine is restarted. Both features provide increased productivity," explains sales manager Johan Vancoillie. "New stops allow complete coverage of the work area and decouple the work area in case of machining operations on the heads of profiles. Finally, thanks to the optional cut-and-separate function, one can create multiple machined pieces from one profile without having to cut it first."
Satellite XLE is ideal for efficient and accurate machining of profiles at window and door manufacturers, shading system products and facade builders, among others. "This machining center also meets the highest standards of safety, ergonomics and accessibility," Vancoillie concludes. "Large windows, two side sliding doors and a hinged tailgate make it very easy to get into the beating heart of the machine without having to move panels."
