For more than 20 years, the name G-Fittings has been synonymous with high-quality fittings used in glass systems and doors. However, the family business from Emmerich am Rhein, Germany, wanted to sell a bit more than just hardware. Therefore, the range was significantly expanded to include glass wall and door systems for indoor and outdoor applications. Thanks to the glass sliding stackable wall Agape, one can use terrace, balcony or loggia all year round, regardless of the weather conditions. The glass awning systems Sophia, Farah and Dittie also protect against precipitation.
Zolda, Mylenka, Aleandra, Aleide and Agape ... these are the names of the various glass sliding folding and stacking partitions from G-Fittings. With Agape, the company introduced a transparent glass wall solution with individually sliding wings, which are very easy to operate thanks to an integrated carriage.
Thanks to an innovative clamping system, glass operations are always avoided. "Agape" is custom produced with lengths of 3300, 4400, 5500, 6600, 8800 or 11000 mm. Depending on the type, the system comes in 3-, 4- and 5-track versions with 3 to 10 (5 + 5) sashes. The panels are up to 1100 mm wide and 3000 mm high and weigh up to 80 kg. They consist of glass 10 mm thick and have an aluminum profile at the bottom with a height of 55 mm. Wing overlaps of only 12 mm provide protection against environmental influences such as noise, wind and driving rain," says Martin Hohmann, sales manager at G-Fittings.
"The wings, which run in an aluminum profile at the top and bottom, can slide to the left or right or open to two sides from the center. The outer sides can be locked each time. High-quality runners ensure smooth and easy sliding. They can also be adjusted in height after installation without removing the sash. One can choose between three mounting situations: floor installation, semi-recessed and recessed. The barrier-free mounting of the floor rail - possibly in combination with a floor connection profile - allows the creation of a seamless transition between inside and outside."
In addition to these sliding elements, G-Fittings also manufactures and supplies glass canopies. They are used as a roof at the entrance of a store, restaurant or office, at a bus stop or bicycle shed, on a terrace or balcony, .... To extend the canopy over a longer distance along a facade, multiple canopies can be mounted side by side. The glass pitch can also be adjusted.
"With Sophia and Farah, our range includes two self-supporting, frameless canopies supported by an aluminum wall clamp profile up to 500 cm wide. The combination of this profile with special glass of 17.52 mm, 21.52 mm and even 25.52 mm (SentryGlas®) results in a load capacity of up to 1.5 and 2 kN/m², respectively. While with a Sophia awning a projection of up to 1300 mm is possible, a Farah awning even goes up to 1500 mm. To create an additional design element on the facade, both types can be optionally equipped with an LED strip. In addition, a unique drainage system ensures that rainwater on a Sophia awning drains elegantly down the side of the profile," Martin Hohmann explains.
"Customers can also opt for our Dittie canopy, where point brackets and tie rods made of stainless steel ensure stability and safety. This canopy with glass 10 - 17.52 mm thick is suitable for an extremely high load of up to 2.51 kN/m² and a projection of up to 1300 mm. The glass here is mounted under a slight inclination of 93° so that the water drains forward."
