Innovative fiberglass technology makes windows and doors score high

Capitalizing on latest trends with new color collection

PVC windows are known for their good insulating properties, but with the Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity series, Deceuninck went one step further. Indeed, this platform combines sashes equipped with structural glass fibers and Forthex reinforced frames instead of the standard retracted steel reinforcements. As a result, our windows and doors are among the best in class when it comes to thermal insulation, acoustics, burglar resistance, wind tightness and water tightness. Manufacturer, installer, architect and consumer ... this innovative technology benefits everyone. As of April 1 this year, the Elegant color collection was also further expanded to match windows and doors with the latest home trends.

As windows and glass are becoming larger and larger, it is an advantage for installers that the sashes are much lighter and easier to handle.

Structural fiberglass and steel wire reinforced PVC rigid foam

The Elegant family includes different wing designs, allowing Deceuninck to offer a solution for everyone's taste: Origin, Abstract and Infinity. "This last version is available in a ThermoFibra version, an innovative technology we developed and patented in 2012. This involves inserting structural glass fibers into the window and door sashes during the extrusion process to replace the standard steel reinforcement. In addition, Forthex, a thermal reinforcement based on steel wire reinforced PVC rigid foam, was chosen for the frame profile," says technical manager Wouter Vanderstraeten. "The Elegant ThermoFibra Inifinity is available in two different frame depths, 76 and 115mm respectively, each of which can be combined with the 85mm deep fiberglass reinforced sashes. The deepest version of 115mm is ideal for the standard construction method in the Netherlands and is available on the outside in gradients of both 5° and 15°. As standard, this window series has a double stop seal, but can be optionally and even retrofitted with a center seal.

Everyone wins

With the Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity, everyone wins. Manufacturers work faster because by using ThermoFibra wings, they need fewer profiles and can therefore produce faster.

"As windows and glazing are becoming larger and larger, it is a bonus for installers that the sashes are much lighter and easier to handle, without sacrificing strength," adds Vanderstraeten. "Architects, in turn, are impressed by the performance in terms of thermal insulation, acoustics, burglar resistance, wind and water tightness, while for consumers the sleek, slim, minimalist design catches their eye. Moreover, this steel-free window and door solution can be 100% recycled at Deceuninck."

New color collection

Deceuninck not only invests in the development of innovative window and door technologies and the optimization of existing solutions, but also considers it important to keep the color range current and in line with home trends.

"To guarantee the same color for all joinery, we developed 'Smart Colours,' which allows the available color coatings for plastic (Decoroc) and aluminum (Aluroc) to perfectly match each other. This range includes 16 RAL colors," concludes Wouter Vanderstraeten. "The color collection also includes many foil colors, divided into four categories: natural wood textures, colored wood textures, solids and metallics. In our new collection, the range of foil colors was expanded from 50 to 57 with more foils with matte textured look and new Woodec wood imitation foils with a tactile surface texture."
