Beautiful, strong and extremely versatile
Beautiful, strong and extremely versatile - that can certainly be said about the HELM MK series. The German company Woelm GmbH attracted great interest from the professionals at the last HoutPro+ trade fair. Why are sliding doors the trend of the moment? Simple: sliding doors are not only a highly functional addition to interior spaces, they are also aesthetically pleasing.
Woelm GmbH, known for the HELM and KWS brands, has with the HELM MK series the ideal sliding door hardware for every professional who wants to deliver high-quality sliding door systems with great ease of assembly and use. We speak with Reinoud van der Kroon of Woelm GmbH about the numerous advantages HELM MK has to offer.
"With the HELM MK series, the professional has several mounting options at his disposal. We are talking about both surface-mounted and recessed options. Installation can be on the ceiling, on the wall or in the niche. In the latter case, the sliding door saves space because it slides away into the niche," says Van der Kroon. "HELM MK is applicable for both single sashes and multiple sashes. With multiple sashes, synchronous or telescopic work can be done."
The HELM MK-L 80 system is well suited for lightweight interior sliding doors. This can accommodate sashes of glass or wood weighing up to 80 kg. Those wishing to fit heavier doors can opt for the HELM MK-M 140 system. Van der Kroon: "This allows sash weights of up to 140 kg to be applied. The characteristic feature is and remains the smooth sliding action under all conditions. The construction of the HELM MK-L 80 and the HELM MK-M 140 is identical. The base consists of a classic C-profile. This base can be expanded with components of your choice to achieve the desired configuration, the system works modularly."
In terms of accessories, Woelm GmbH has thought of everything. For example, snap-on covers and spacer profiles are available. These can be used universally. "The great thing is that Woelm GmbH continues to innovate. So everyone can always expect new accessories that are compatible with existing systems," Van der Kroon explains.
Asked about the latest developments, Van der Kroon replied, "A new glass clamp profile just 22 mm high is available. Glass sashes can be used - without any processing to the glass. Both single tempered (ESG) and laminated safety glass panels (VSG) can be used and are easily adjustable in height when installed. Combine that with the new 75 mm high cover cap (clicked on) and you enjoy a low built-in height with an outstanding optical effect. A special feature of this cover is that it can be used both with interior sliding doors made of wood and with glass sashes. In the latter case, an additional brush seal can be applied."
Other news is in the area of surface treatment. In addition to a silver or precious metal look, the HELM MK system can now also be supplied in matte black.
"With this, we are meeting the increasing demand for matte black interior parts. After all, this remains a hot item. In this way, a sliding door system becomes a real 'eye-catcher'."
Woelm GmbH allows the HELM and KWS brands to integrate beautifully with each other. This is reflected in the series of handles from KWS that is perfectly matched to the HELM sliding door system. "In this, the range is also very broad. From classic round handles to square-shaped handles. Those who want to save space can use an attractive KWS bowl handle. Of course, these perfectly fitting handles are also available in matte black," Van der Kroon concludes.
