Responding to market developments and customer needs. That's what Ryterna has been doing for more than 25 years. For a long time as a manufacturer of garage and commercial doors. Now high-quality house doors have been added to that.
Taking care of the complete process, from design to delivery, it is not common in his industry, says director Ton Koppei of Ryterna Benelux BV. "We do it to be able to monitor quality as well as possible and to be as flexible as possible. In case of any shortcomings, we are not dependent on others but can act quickly ourselves and solve it."
In the field of commercial doors and high-quality garage doors, Ryterna has been a household name for 26 years, worldwide, Koppei makes clear. The company has two production sites in Lithuania, branches in 15 countries, an extensive dealer network and a total of 500 employees. The Benelux location is in Sittard. "We have branches in several places because you are closer to the people, speak the customer's language. In addition, you discover more quickly what is going on in a specific market." The offering is very broad, Koppei says, mostly consisting of custom-made products. "We can tailor the product to the needs of the end user."
The same is true of the newest product, house doors, he points out. Those were introduced from a particular idea. "Of course, we are always working on innovation, new developments. That's how we came up with the idea of a package, selling corresponding garage doors and house doors together. We expected that there would be demand for that but it was disappointing. Consumers don't often buy a house door and a garage door at the same time. There is, however, replacement of one of the two; then one door is indeed matched to the other."
Meanwhile, the idea had been invested in, the initial plans had been further developed, and three types of doors had been developed: one with a thickness of 65 mm, one of 80 mm and one of 100 mm. As a standard, the requirements as they apply in the German and Austrian markets had been taken, Koppei notes.
"These are particularly high. This is in line with our intention to produce high-quality doors with an attractive appearance and, for example, a high degree of insulation - high-end doors. All three of these types achieve excellent u-values. Furthermore, the doors are equipped with a magnetic sill, a German patent, with which maximum sealing can be obtained. In addition, they can be tailored to customer requirements. If someone wants modifications on a standard design or a door according to their own design, that is possible."
The three types have now been successfully launched in the German, English and Austrian markets. Last year saw the introduction to the Dutch market. Although there are still steps to be made Koppei is pleased with the initial progress. "A new product on an existing market, that takes time. We have noticed, for example, that we also need to target dealers of shutters and frames. We are now approaching various parties; that is going well."
