Aluminum range further expanded with fire-resistant joinery
Innovation is in Deceuninck's genes. The West Flemish company continuously invests in optimizing existing products and developing new profile systems. To respond to the increasing demand for fire-resistant joinery, the Decalu88 WESTA FP range is now being presented.
Single and double interior and exterior doors and windows as well as fixed walls are available in EI(30) and EI(60). The profiles are developed according to So Easy technology, which allows for faster installation. They score high in terms of thermal insulation and can be easily combined with all other frames and doors from the Decalu family. Deceuninck supplies the WESTA FP range as finished products.
In addition to energy efficiency, acoustics and aesthetics, window and door profiles must also meet strict fire safety requirements. The most important fire parameters within European EN standards include flame density (E) and thermal insulation (I). The former indicates how long a separating element prevents flames or hot gases from penetrating, while the latter reflects how long the element prevents the passage of heat to an unexposed side. For non-load-bearing walls and ceilings, classes EI(30), EI(60) and EI(120) are used.
"With Decalu88 WESTA FP as an addition to the existing range, we offer architects, contractors and installers a new solution to make windows, doors and walls fire-resistant without sacrificing aesthetics and durability. Thus, a fire-safe working and living environment can be created in many applications: production halls, warehouses, offices, school buildings and residential buildings," says technical manager Eddy Moreels.
"The unique concept of these aluminum profiles, developed according to the patented So Easy technology, allows for smooth installation of windows, doors and walls. Compared to other systems, our profiles 20% to 40% can be installed faster. Double gypsum chambers result in excellent thermal properties. In addition, the glazing clips are mounted on the inside and the asymmetrical structure makes the profiles compatible with other systems in the Decalu range."
Just like other Deceuninck products, these Decalu88 WESTA FP solutions have been technically thought out and developed down to the smallest detail. Thus, they perfectly complement other building elements. In rooms where fire safety requirements are less stringent, the fire-resistant joinery seamlessly complements the regular aluminum joinery from the Decalu family. A strong synergy is also possible with plastic profiles of the Elegant series, which can present excellent insulation values. This means a win-win situation for architects, contractors, installers and building owners.
"We can present the necessary approvals and certificates for both production and installation, and all products have the necessary quality guarantees. With our standard systems we supply profiles, which are then further processed by the customer, but this fire-resistant joinery can be ordered and delivered as a finished product by contractors and installers. In this way they avoid unhealthy and unsafe work situations, such as dust generation during sawing work in the workshop. Moreover, they must have the necessary certificates to produce this type of joinery," Moreels concludes.
"In the meantime, we continue to pay attention to the further development of fire-resistant joinery. This way we want to be able to respond to the demand from the Dutch project market and, by the end of this year, specific fire-resistant solutions for that as well
can imagine."
