Minimalist front door for large openings

Spanish multinational introduces front door that matches contemporary architecture

Cortizo, international leader in aluminum and plastic systems for architecture, is now taking an even more minimalist approach by introducing the Millennium Plus Pivot: a front door whose design is fully adapted to contemporary architectural trends. The system from the Spanish multinational company is suitable for panel or glass sashes up to 3 meters high and 2.1 meters wide, thus being specially designed for closing large openings.

The Millennium Plus Pivot is available in two versions. First, the panel version, whose versatility is determined by the wide range of panels available on the market and the possibility of integrating a built-in LED handle. Second, the glazed version, designed to enhance natural light and give buildings a sophisticated look.

Exceptional performance

The new minimalist front door is particularly suitable for large openings; thanks to the sashes of 3 meters high, 2.10 meters wide and weighing 250 kilograms installed on eccentric shafts. In addition to its contemporary design and appearance, the Millennium Plus Pivot stands out for its exceptional performance, as it has a Ud value for heat transfer of only 0.86 W/m²K thanks to its 80 mm deep sashes, a thermal break of 26 mm and a glazing capacity of up to 64 mm. The properties of this system are confirmed by the results of AEV laboratory tests: Class 5A for water tightness, C5 for wind resistance and C4 for air permeability. In addition, this Cortizo door is suitable for sash configurations with two fixed sidelights, as well as for manual or automatic inward or outward opening.

Recycled aluminum

With an annual production capacity of some 150,000 tons of aluminum and 45,000 tons of PVC, Cortizo has become an international name in aluminum and plastic systems for architecture. The Spanish multinational operates in 86 countries, with a clearly growing market in Belgium and the Netherlands in recent years. Thus, since mid-2024, customers can also visit Cortizo's new showroom in Kampenhout, under the smoke of Brussels.

With an entirely in-house production process and more than thirty logistics centers spread throughout Europe, Cortizo is able to supply all its customers quickly. In the process, sustainability is a top priority. For example, the Spanish multinational has several foundries where aluminum residual waste from customers is completely recycled into new profiles, leading to enormous energy savings. The symbol of this sustainable architecture is Cortizo Infinity: a billet made of one hundred percent post-consumer recycled aluminum from scrap metal from windows, doors, facades, railings and other products.

Circular construction economy

The use of this recycled aluminum not only helps minimize the ecological footprint, but also gives access to certifications such as LEED, BREEAM and VERDE. With this, Cortizo Infinity has quickly become a benchmark for a new way of building that focuses on circularity and reducing the environmental impact of the construction process. The latter is also important for an increasing number of Cortizo's customers for whom such environmentally friendly production and the pursuit of a circular construction economy is a prerequisite.
