Meet the new generation of exterior doors

A high-quality appearance, high insulation value and maximum safety.

A lightweight exterior door with a high insulation value, which is less sensitive to weather conditions and therefore also requires less maintenance. Thanks to Skantrae, this is no longer future music, but reality. With the NEXT front doors and NEXT rear doors, the manufacturer and supplier introduces the new standard in door technology. "What makes our exterior doors unique is the carefully composed panel construction," explains marketing manager Frank van Putten. "This not only creates great design freedom, but also effectively overcomes problems such as drafts, shrinkage and swelling. The use of whole panels, without post and sill connections, also provides a much greater basic strength. In combination with our hardware packages, security is raised to the very highest level."

Rising energy prices and an ever-increasing climate problem are reasons for many homeowners to make their homes more sustainable. In many cases, this involves choosing (triple) double glazing, floor insulation, roof insulation and cavity insulation to prevent heat loss in summer and heat loss in winter.

In addition, more and more residents are choosing to replace their exterior doors. A good development, according to Van Putten, because together these doors take up more than 4 square meters.

"In order to be able to provide an optimally insulating front door for every home and every living style, we searched for a high-tech insulation panel with which sleek and modern as well as timeless, rural and classic doors can be realized. For example, with the look and feel of deep-set panels and with vertical or horizontal grooves. The result is NEXT."

For the rear door, Skantrae has kept the design of the familiar stacking door. "The NEXT rear door is available in four models, with a spandrel height of 27, 40, 66 or 92 cm. There is also a choice of glass types, including HR++ glass."

Lower energy consumption, maximum living comfort

All NEXT exterior doors are constructed of an insulating core with 100% FSC® meranti plywood on each side and an aluminum interlayer. The core includes an XPS rigid foam filling that is pressure-resistant, moisture-resistant and lightweight, ensuring a low U-value, Van Putten said.

"This results not only in lower energy consumption, but also in maximum living comfort. The hall is no longer cold. The aluminum intermediate layers contribute to a very high form stability of the door, which means that possible shrinkage and swelling behavior and therefore sticking doors are no longer an issue. This allows considerable savings in maintenance. The use of whole panels also ensures a uniform wood grain pattern, which absolutely benefits the aesthetics of the doors!"

Thought of everything

Thanks to the use of lightweight materials, Skantrae NEXT exterior doors are very easy to hang, unlike solid wood doors, for example. If required, the doors can be shortened all around by 35 mm. All doors are primed in RAL 7038 as standard. "In combination with comprehensive hardware packages, we have really thought of everything," says Dr. K. K., the company's CEO. 

The ultimate in convenience and safety

Thanks to Skantrae's hardware packages, residents can also lock their insulated front doors as well as back doors quickly, properly and securely. Each package consists of SKG*** security hardware with a handle- or key-operated three-point locking system, gripper protection and all necessary drilling and milling. Residents can choose from door handles in a variety of designs and finishes, such as aluminum, stainless steel, (matte) chrome, brass and black. All details can also be included, such as security hinges with anti-lift locks and letter plates. In this way Skantrae guarantees a high-quality appearance, optimal security and seamless integration in every project.

All NEXT exterior doors are tested according to KOMO guidelines. In addition, a standard 10-year warranty is issued on the front and rear doors. "In terms of price and appearance, the exterior doors are very similar," Van Putten emphasizes. "In terms of living comfort, durability, maintenance and processing, however, NEXT leaves the solid wood door far behind."
