Quality and innovation meet in unique products

If you, as a profile producer for plastic window frames, are constantly working to ensure that your customers can keep up with the vanguard, this not only requires a constant drive to innovate, but also a piece of quality control. Arjen de Haan, Commercial Manager Window Solutions at REHAU NV, talks about the process behind this.

"In order to guarantee the quality of our products, REHAU has the entire production process under its own control. Both in the making of the dies - these are manufactured in our own workshop - and in the composition of the necessary raw materials," De Haan opens the conversation.

Made in Germany
"To be precise, at the plant in Wittmund, in northern Germany," De Haan continued. "The mixing of all components in the PVC raw material is carried out there by REHAU itself. As a result, stable quality can be guaranteed. The application of the armor color film is also done there, partly fully automated via production controlled online and partly fully automated on offline production units."

So everything is "Made in Germany. De Haan points to the successful High Definition Finishing for profiles. "With our HDF technology, profiles get a perfect surface and require little maintenance. Windows and doors have to endure quite a lot, not only because of all the weather influences they are exposed to, but simply also because of long-term and intensive use. Our profiles are equipped with an exclusive REHAU HDF surface, which not only achieves a brilliant shine, the profile is also closed, smooth and very easy to maintain."

A word about the Dutch market ...
Since the introduction of the Synego NL profile in 2018, REHAU has won many a heart from professionals in the patriotic window frame industry. De Haan outlines, "It's a hit. The Netherlands simply looks at window frames differently now, and the fact that Synego NL profiles contribute to the appearance of the facade is seen as very important. What I would like to emphasize, however, is that the appearance is not the only important thing. Synego NL offers an exceptional interplay of design and functionality."

"The installation depth is 120 mm, the profile has 5 chambers in the frame and 6 chambers in the sash. With a thermal insulation (Uf) of up to 1.0 W/m2K, sound insulation up to Rw=47 dB, burglary class 3 ánd our HDF surface, Synego NL can be called highly functional. Good optics with maximum performance, that's what we score with in the country."

Another product warmly received in the Netherlands is KALEIDO WOODEC. "That looks like wood, feels just like wood, but with the advantages of plastic window frames. With this, REHAU provides an appropriate answer to the current trend of window frames in Scandinavian looks. There are therefore three oak designs available."

Can it be a little more?
The letter "X" in RAU-Fipro X stands for "Extra large. Due to its improved composition, the RAU-Fipro X profile is the only plastic profile with Ix resistance. "Again, the only one of its kind and suitable for producing elements 10% larger than normal, without steel reinforcement," De Haan concludes.
