Wooden exterior doors, frames and hardware often have to put up with a lot. They are subject to weather influences, which can affect their shape retention. "Especially dark wooden doors sometimes have a tendency to warp," says Detmer Deddens, product manager at BUVA. "For example, under the influence of (building) moisture, due to a (too) high solar load, due to the heating in a house or due to a combination of these. During construction, these influences play an even greater role. In practice, unfortunately, it still happens regularly that builders are unable to close all the doors when closing the construction site. Sometimes they then forcefully try to close refusing locks as yet to lock. Damage lurks in that case." In addition, sand, dust or other construction debris can impede smooth operation of door locking systems, he says, with all its consequences. "But incorrect assembly and adjustment work also regularly causes problems and failure costs. BUVA's new, innovative door closing solution deals with this once and for all."
The new door locking solution is reliable, flexible and very easy to install, says Deddens. "Thanks to a sophisticated design, incorrect adjustment is a thing of the past. Moreover, the door can move freely at all times. As a result, opening and closing problems during shrinkage or expansion are no longer an issue."
