Greater comfort and lower energy bills
Anyone wishing to insulate their facade would be wise to include their front door and frame connections. For example, by replacing a 38-mm-thick front door with a 54-mm door and/or by exchanging a front door with stiles and sills for a composite flat door with insulating foam core. This significantly increases the insulation value. Especially when the seams and gaps are included. "By optimizing door and frame connections, draught and moisture problems are prevented," says Johan Spijker, Senior Product Manager at Weekamp Deuren. "Instead, residents benefit from more comfort and lower energy bills. Weekamp Deuren supports this with an extensive range of custom doors. But also with an excellent installation service, where the front doors are carefully measured and installed."
"Saving energy starts with good insulation," Spijker emphasizes. "The front door should not be forgotten here. With about 2 m2 in fact, this door forms an important part of the building envelope. Highly insulating this space and sealing seams and gaps significantly improves the thermal performance of the home, while government subsidy schemes reduce the investment."
Weekamp Deuren has specialized in wooden doors for more than 40 years "For their front doors, buyers have a choice of wood of different durability and hardness grades," said head of marketing Frank van Putten. "Both our Hardwood® as Premium Hardwood® doors can be manufactured from FSC-certified hardwood sourced from sustainably managed forests. The doors meet the highest quality and performance requirements, are KOMO certified and
available with GND warranty."
Premium Hardwood® has the lowest shrinkage and swelling behavior, he says. "This prevents jamming of the door. In addition, the minimal shrinkage and swelling does not affect the paint coating, allowing for substantial maintenance savings and allowing residents to enjoy their beautiful door for as long as possible."
"Every door we supply is produced as a unique door," Van Putten says. "This makes it possible for architects and buyers alike to implement specific wishes. Think, for example, of specific types of wood, dimensions, styles and finishes. Our range has 162 basic models, in different style groups. From contemporary to modern, timeless, classic, 1930s and rural. This includes numerous glass options. From HR++ to triple glass and from frosted glass to clear glass, safety glass and stained glass, possibly combined with cast iron grilles."
Spijker: "In addition, we produce specials. This means, for example, that we can reproduce worn monumental doors exactly, but with a modern quality. And ultra-tight doors and special shapes or sizes are also part of our capabilities."
All front doors come pre-painted as standard, but it is also possible to paint the doors in a one- or even two-color choice. "In doing so, we also supply appropriate hardware. Our hardware range focuses emphatically on convenience, comfort and a stylish appearance, as well as safety. We supply excellent products, which are applicable within the Police Seal of Approval for Safe Living."
In addition to the customization options, Weekamp Deuren's assembly service is also casting a high light on the market. "In renovation projects, among others, the Weekamp Assembly Team supports private customers by putting together the front door completely as desired," Spijker said. "But also by carefully measuring and fitting the front door digitally. For housing corporations, property developers and contractor parties, we offer the same service, also in series. This assures buyers of one point of contact, one supplier and one guarantee party for the complete door. Moreover, all costs are transparent in advance.
All our doors are custom made industrially produced in our factory in the Czech Republic, ensuring the highest quality standards. This combination makes Weekamp Doors unique."
