Sustainability and circularity are impossible to imagine our society without. We also see this in the construction industry. For Schüco, circularity is not a buzzword. Sustainability is in the DNA of this specialist in aluminum windows and doors. In the production process, they optimize energy efficiency, reduce CO2-emissions and the use of natural resources is avoided as much as possible. The products can be easily recycled, upgraded and even reused. At Polyclose, Schüco is further highlighting these themes with a booth partially constructed from recycled booth elements.
In addition, the manufacturer is focusing on "Schüco Digital," the online services that simplify the life of the installer. And, plenty of attention is being paid to the building blocks for the smart facade.
Schüco's window, door and facade solutions meet the highest requirements in terms of design, comfort and safety. Moreover, sustainability and circularity are part of its DNA. "For years, we have been developing quality products based on the philosophy that they should be easy to recycle, upgrade and even repurpose. In terms of recyclability, we look not only at aluminum, but also at hardware, rubber, glass, .... We are also far ahead when it comes to the intensive development, testing and certification of unique cradle-to-cradle products," states Joep Römgens, head of engineering Belgium & Luxembourg at Schüco.
"At Polyclose we are going one step further, because together with our stand builder Creaplan, we have decided to build our stand partly from recycled materials from other stands. In addition, we are also using part of our mobile showroom, where the most important products from our portfolio will be displayed."
Part of the booth will be dedicated to the ASE 80 thermally insulated sliding and lifting sill system. In the barrier-free version, the sill is recessed into the floor, which is ideal for seniors and people with disabilities. Solutions with FINEO vacuum glass will also be on display.
In addition to the products, however, Schüco wants to focus on the digital solutions at Polyclose, developed to support the processor at every stage of the process: from inspiration and design, through planning and calculation to processing and even control and operation. The online portal Schüco Connect allows orders to be entered and monitored in real time. Tender texts, CAD files, catalogs, software and other resources can also be easily accessed online via Schüco My Workplace. With the Schüco product database, which is directly integrated into the planning software SchüCal, architects and planners can quickly and easily find suitable product solutions and all relevant information about facades, windows, sliding systems, blinds and doors centrally on one platform.
"Intelligent, sensor-connected facades are the basis for a new form of smart building that offers greater comfort and energy efficiency. For example, Schüco SensTrack wireless allows the various Schüco façade elements to open and close automatically. The new energy-independent sensor technology connects the doors, windows and sliding systems and collects valuable product, environmental and usage information. By storing all the information in a cloud-based portal, the building is optimally monitored and controlled," Joep Römgens continues.
"Internet of Facades (IoF) is a software that provides the basis for digitizing all information, documents and processes throughout the life cycle of each Schüco element such as installation data, maintenance information, .... This data is stored in the cloud and can be accessed at any time. This gives the user a better overview and thus more control. Each element has a unique digital identity with a built-in cycle counter so that the circular value is always known and the carbon footprint is reduced."
