Build smart digitally
For manufacturers, it is not only important to develop innovative products. They must also ensure that processors and architects can quickly and easily find all the necessary information. They have understood this very well at Schüco. The specialist for aluminum windows and doors is investing heavily in the further development and expansion of online services for every stage of the process: from inspiration and design, through planning and calculation to processing and even control and operation. "My workplace," for example, is where every Schüco project begins, for architects and processors alike.
At Schüco, they know what architects and processors want. Since they have busy schedules, all essential information should be easily and conveniently accessible in one place. That is why they developed the online platform "My workplace," which contains a wealth of information about facades, windows, sliding systems, blinds and doors that is not available on the regular website, but is an absolute added value for efficient work.
"Those who register can immediately access all kinds of useful information from the Schüco DocuCenter. For example, they can find detailed technical information and documentation, specification texts, CAD data, BIM objects, planning tools, .... at a glance. All information is logically organized according to the 4 phases of a project: design, planning, tendering and project management," says Schüco.
"Architects and processors can easily save products as favorites or look up more details about particular system series with a simple mouse click. Via the Schüco Partner Tool, they can go one step further and create simulations for shading, acoustic measurements, static pre-calculations or the calculation of U-values. The platform has been further expanded with information around the biggest technical innovations, divided into three themes that will help define the construction industry: healthy building, smart building and safe building."
Intelligent, sensor-connected facades are the basis for that "smart building. For example, Schüco SensTrack wireless allows the various Schüco façade elements to open and close automatically. The new energy-independent sensor technology connects the doors, windows and sliding systems and collects valuable product, environmental and usage information. By storing all information in a cloud-based portal, the building is optimally monitored and controlled.
"The digital shell is becoming the backbone of smart buildings. It collects and communicates data and information and creates digital solutions that make our urban spaces more efficient, sustainable and pleasant places to live, work or meet. Schüco Internet of Facades (IoF) is a software that lays the foundation for that digitization. All information, documents and processes are stored on the IoF ID, a small tag that gives each part of a facade its own digital identity. Installation data, maintenance information, ..., are thus available throughout the life cycle of each Schüco element," explains Schüco.
"There is much more. Each facade element can be assigned an item number, which allows subcontractors to immediately see where the facade element is according to the schedule. Furthermore, photos of the facade element can be taken after acceptance and installation, which can then be linked to the dates and date. Should a defect be reported, simple proof is available. This data is stored in the cloud and is always accessible. This makes the daily work of Schüco partners much easier."
