A timeless interior for a sleekly finished new construction project

When designing a house, apartment, office or other building, attention is paid not only to the exterior, but also to the interior. A beautiful, eye-catching facade is important, but building owners place equal importance on the interior layout and design.

There is a clear trend today towards a sleek, timeless finish. Thus, architect Rik Behaegel also designed an extremely tightly finished house with office space for the new construction project of the Verhelst-Holvoet family. The Xinnix systems, expertly installed by the firm New Driessens, ensure the invisible integration of the door and access systems. Security was an important theme. The owners decide who gets access to the offices when, and in the hallway a door with an electric three-point lock increases security for the residents on the upper floor.

The new home of the Verhelst-Holvoet family near Kortrijk - a design by architect Rik Behaegel - looks beautiful, both outside and inside. Both the living area and the office space were finished extremely sleekly, and the colors in decoration and furniture create a cozy atmosphere. For discreet integration of the interior doors, the builders chose Xinnix systems.

"We develop universal construction elements that allow doors to be integrated flat-walled. They consist of white or black pre-painted aluminum frames and come standard with a magnetic lock, a rubber seal and invisible 3D adjustable Xinnix hinges," states Xinnix managing director Chris Vermeulen.

"We respond very flexibly to customer requirements. After all, we offer solutions for ordinary swing and sliding doors, but also for acoustic and fire-resistant applications as well as for systems with a built-in door pump, door handle or, electric locking. The height is also practically unlimited: from standard height to room height with a maximum of no less than 3.5 meters."

A project with challenges

Thanks to the Xinnix systems, all the doors in this new construction project could be incorporated in a very discreet way.

The company New Driessens, specialized in the elaboration of customized interiors, was commissioned to integrate the Xinnix systems and doors into the new building. Besides a lot of standard solutions, this project also had a number of challenges. For example, the building owners wanted additional security for their office space. By integrating an electrical counter plate into a Xinnix system with a standard magnetic lock, it can be determined at any time who gets access to the room. The system was set up so that during office hours everyone has free access to the offices. At other times, the door is locked and a code must be entered to enter.

A safe upper floor

For the owners, security in the upstairs living area was also very important. "A door with a three-point lock provides a shield between the hall and the stairs. The three-point lock works electrically, so you only gain access using the code keyboard," Vermeulen explains. "The system is not noticeable, however, because you don't see any difference at all between the systems with a standard magnetic lock and this solution with an electric three-point lock."

Successful finishing

The Verhelst-Holvoet family is already very happy with their new building volume. The combination of the quality of the Xinnix systems with the precision and expertise of installer New Driessens ensures a beautiful, but especially unobtrusive integration of all interior doors. The result: a sleek and timeless interior, which also lifts this project to a higher level.
