A full range of solutions for wooden and glass sliding doors

Revolving doors are still the rule, but architects and building owners also regularly choose alternatives, such as sliding doors. Xinnix not only supplies systems for flat-walled swing doors, but also for sliding door systems. With X5, the specialist from Harelbeke offers a complete range that allows wooden or glass doors up to 3500 mm high and 3030 mm wide per door leaf, to slide completely into a wall of ordinary thickness.

With X5, Xinnix developed a full range of solutions for wood and glass sliding doors. The X5-POCKET system allows two spaces to be separated with a sliding door that disappears seamlessly into the wall, while the X5-WALL creates a pre-wall when renovating, where the door slides away in a slim wall in front of the already existing wall. These systems are available in all sizes, even up to 3500 mm high and up to 3030 mm wide per door leaf. The construction of the walls and mounting for such giant doors remain just the same as for a standard sliding door. The difference is in the additional center posts that provide more stability in the "pocket.

The right sliding door type for every application

This X5 sliding door system is available in different types. In addition to a standard version for normal sliding doors and an XXL version for larger sliding elements, there is also X5 Double, suitable for double doors, where both door panels move independently of each other. With the X5 Synchronous, the door panels slide open and close simultaneously.

"The ultimate in space saving is achieved with an X5 Parallel system. Here, two sashes disappear into a wall width of a single sliding door, providing a clear passage that doubles in size," explains sales manager Laurens Vermeulen. "With the X5 Angle, a corner sliding door can divide an open space into two segments. For privacy, the two spaces can be closed off from each other. Leaving the sliding door open then creates another free passage from one space to the other. This is a system mainly used in hospitals and residential care centers, for example to close off sanitary cells. In the open position, the room is easily accessible to everyone, including wheelchair users."

Various finishing options for door and wall

With these sliding door systems, there are two finishes to choose from. With the "Xinnix" finish, rail and suspension are concealed with proprietary developed profiles, while with the "Pure" finish the suspension is integrated into the door leaf. This finish is mainly used in ceiling-high solutions, where the rail is recessed into a false ceiling.

"The walls are finished with plasterboard 12.5 mm thick as standard, but one can of course choose veneered boards of the same thickness. For extra-high doors or special wall finishes, a wider system is used. For a Marriott Group hotel project, for example, we were asked to incorporate 9 mm tile into the walls. Here a combination of an X5D32 profile with a 12 mm OSB board and a 12.5 mm plasterboard was chosen," Vermeulen indicates.

"Door leaf finishes can also be customized. In addition to painted doors, painted, veneered or HPL doors can also be used. Standard packages are available from stock and can be built via the convenient X5 configurator. There is also an extensive choice of sliding door locks and shells as a finishing touch." ′
