Innovations for access control, ventilation and fire protection in the spotlight

Innovations for access control, ventilation and fire protection highlighted

BAU is the biennial event where many architects, engineers, processors, façade builders and other interested parties are introduced to innovative solutions. Due to Covid-19, the fair organizers opted for an alternative event and offered exhibitors and visitors a digital platform. Thus GEZE also presented its innovations in the field of door, window and safety technology during this virtual fair. A particular highlight were the demonstrations of the GEZE Counter, IQ box Safety and FA GC 170, among others, as well as other innovative solutions, live from a real trade fair studio. With a combination of live recordings and digital access, the company also immediately introduced an alternative way of communication.

Live streaming

GEZE is not only innovative in terms of product development, but also in terms of the way they communicate. After all, Covid-19 has thoroughly shaken up our lives: trade shows are going digital, contacts are happening online, ....

However, digital trade shows are often characterized by static meeting formats and virtual animations, and GEZE wanted to change that with attractive, live broadcasts.

The program included innovative product presentations and sessions by product specialists, alternately in German and English, but there was also an opportunity for personal contact with partners, customers, prospects and journalists. These presentations included the GEZE Counter for digital access control, the IO Box Safety for reliable ventilation with power-operated windows and FA GC 170 as a wireless extension system for fire protection doors.

Access and control of customer flows simplified

Covid-19 limits the number of people per square foot in a store. This is a real challenge for many owners. GEZE developed a solution to control access control and customer flow. By connecting the GEZE Counter with the traditional functions of automatic sliding doors, one can effectively control customer flow and know at all times how many people are inside. If the predetermined limits are in danger of being exceeded, the door automatically refuses access. The next customers are admitted again as soon as other people have left the store.

Reliable ventilation with power windows

Reliable ventilation is perhaps more important today than ever before in every type of building: homes and apartments, as well as in schools and nurseries, businesses and offices and other utility buildings. In addition to mouth and nose protection, keeping distance and hygiene, continuously refreshing indoor air is crucial to creating a healthy indoor environment. The IQ Box Safety is a new TÜV-tested solution from GEZE, which makes it possible to secure electrically operated windows up to protection class 4. This box can be used with all standard window types, giving architects and engineers maximum flexibility and creative freedom for the integration of ventilation, smoke and heat extraction systems.

Fire protection for doors in renovations

The experts from GEZE also explained to the "visitors" what they should pay attention to when integrating and automating fire doors during renovation projects.

The hold-open systems from the German manufacturer ensure an accessible door without sacrificing fire safety. At the virtual fair, GEZE presented the FA GC 170 wireless extension system, which is suitable for simple installation on fire doors in existing buildings. Other components, such as ceiling smoke detectors, can also be connected wirelessly to the hold-open system.
